Outdoor Sports tiles are easy to maintain. Cleaning of these flooring tiles typically includes:
  • Vacuum any loose dust, dirt, or debris from the tiles.
  • Simply hose down the floor and let the self-draining design allow for the dirt and debris to be swept away.

Outdoor Basketball Court Kits are easy to install. Installation of these floor tiles typically includes:
  • Clean your subfloor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, grease, or other foreign material.
  • When installing the Sports-Loc tiles, we recommend starting in one corner of the room and working your way out from there.
  • If your flooring is going up to a wall, make sure the female side (loops) of the tile is facing away from the wall.
  • After placing the tiles in a perpendicular pattern, proceed to fill the rest of the area with whole tiles to your predetermined size and design.
  • When you come up to an edge, wall or object, don’t worry. Just measure the area and cut the tiles with a tile cutter, or table saw.
  • When trimming the tiles into place, make sure you leave about a 3/4” space between the tiles and the outside of the court or near a while to allow for expansion and contraction of the floor.
  • Once the tiles are in place, you can then snap in the edge pieces, if you purchased them.
Note: Even though our Outdoor Sports Tiles are made from the same plastic as our standard garage tiles, we do not recommend driving a vehicle over them every day. If a vehicle must drive over the court frequently, we recommend the use of our Vented Grid-Loc Tiles in the area where the vehicle will cross. Our Outdoor Basketball Court Kit tiles and Vented Grid-Loc tiles interlock with each other.

Game Line Application:
  • Make sure when applying painted game lines that you use painter’s tape or 3M 2060 tape to outline the lines that need to be painted. For painted game lines, use a two-part polyurethane paint.

Don't see what you're looking for?
I was wondering if it was possible to install the outdoor basketball court kits on relatively flat grass rather than concrete?
Ellie Copley
We don't recommend installing our Outdoor Sports Tiles over grass, but many of our customers have done so with success. The best subsurface to install our court tiles on is concrete, but if you have a flat piece of ground, installing our sports tiles on it, shouldn't be a problem. The main issue of installing on direct ground is that the tiles can sink into the ground after a rainstorm. Also, since the ground is not totally stable, if you were to fall hard on the tiles, you can push the tiles into the ground. Another issue that can pop up is that the tiles will buckle due to not being able to expand and contract properly.
I understand from the below that concrete is the best sub-surface to install the tiles on. But I have a few other related questions. How thick should the concrete sub-surface be? How do I ensure that the tiles do not slip/move over time?
John
The typical concrete slab thickness is 4", but there is no standard thickness needed under our Outdoor Basketball Court Kits. The weight of the tiles in conjunction with the pegs on the bottom of the tiles will help them stay in place while at play. There would be no need to add any glue or tape under the tiles to keep them in place.
On the 30x30 floor kits, are the edge pieces included in the package or are those separate?
J
Edges are sold separately. If you would like edges for the 30x30 you would need 58 Male edges, 58 female edges, 2 male corners, and 2 female corners.
Has anyone installed these tiles over compacted crushed rock, like granite for instance? This would be compacted over "blown sand" which is a typical soil along coastal SoCal? It drains very well.
Mike W
Yes, these tiles can be installed over crushed granite.
How does the floor tile handle the snow and ice? How do you recommend clearing the space in the case of snow? In Chicago we use salt to clear ice and snow, is this ok?
sam
Our Outdoor Sports Tiles are made from a hard plastic polypropylene and can withstand the elements without being damaged, so they will be able to withstand the ice and snow. These tiles can be shoveled, snow blowed, etc. As for salt -it certainly won’t hurt the tiles, but it may leave a residue. You may want to pressure wash them off in spring.
Is it possible to drive over them?
Ellie Copley
You can drive over our Outdoor Sports Tiles. These tiles are made from the same material as our hard plastic garage tiles.
I have a 25’ x 25’ mulched area over dirt. Would I be able to install without cementing?
Mike
Our Outdoor Sports Tiles should be installed over a solid surface. Acceptable subfloors would be concrete and asphalt. Installing these tiles over mulch is not recommended because the playing surface will become unstable.
Due to the grade of our home, we have a large wood deck as our backyard that would be perfect for a small area to put a basketball hoop in. Can these tiles be installed over a wood patio deck?
Jo
Yes, the Outdoor Basketball Court Kit Tiles can be installed over the wood deck. We recommend installing these tiles over a hard surface like concrete. If the wood deck is on a hard surface and there is proper drainage, you should be fine.
Can this product be installed on beach sand with a ply wood subfloor for a temporaray event that lasts 6 weeks?
Yes, the Outdoor Basketball Court Kit Tiles can be installed on a plywood subfloor. However, we recommend installing these tiles over a hard surface like concrete.
Can you install the outdoor basketball court kit on an outdoor residential tennis court? And if so, will the kit tiles damage the tennis court surface? How long does it take to install the kit?
Our Outdoor Basketball Court Kits can be installed on any flat surface and will not damage the subfloor which includes concrete, clay, and grass. These tiles are very easy to install and it doesn't take much time to put them together but the installation time depends on the installer.
Do the kits come with the key painted on?
Aaron Rasmussen
The Outdoor Basketball Court Kits come with main court tiles and key tiles which are both different in color. If you're looking to create game lines, please see our Game Line Paint Kits.
I would like to order the 24x20 outdoor basketball kit. We would like to put the tiles on top of a gravel and stone dust base. I know how to make the wood frame and lay down the gravel with a tamper. I wanted to check if you had further instructions, if this type of installation as recommended, and if there is a rain porous foam pad to put between the top layer of gravel/stone dust and the tiles?
Thomas Radman
You can install our Outdoor Basketball Court Kits on top of a level gravel and stone dust base using the same installation instructions that we have provided on the product page, however we do recommend using these over a hard surface like concrete or asphalt. You wouldn't need a foam pad underneath since these tiles are porous and will allow water to pass through them easily.
We are in a wind tornado. HOw does this adhere to ground? ALso, does this need any type of algae treatment?
mary
Outdoor Basketball Court Kits can be installed on any hard surface like concrete or asphalt. The weight of the tiles will hold them down during heavy winds. You should not have algae issue with these tiles since these have vents and will allow water to pass through them easily.
What should be used to cut these tiles during installation?
The tiles can be cut with a tile cutter or a power saw with a fine-toothed blade.
We were told that we could install this over dirt. However, in reading your Q&A it looks like you are saying this should be installed over concrete or wood patio would be acceptable. Just to clarify, dirt is not except?
Layton Family
We recommend installing our Outdoor Basketball Court Kits over hard surfaces like concrete and asphalt, but you may install these over dirt as well.
Can you custom size your court kit. I have space that I want to put this kit on it 30 x 15. Do you guys provided for that measurement?
Yes, absolutely! Please see our Outdoor Sports Tiles for this purpose. You may simply use the flooring calculator on the product page to calculate the number of tiles you would need, or use our flooring designer to design your own court! The flooring designer is located right under "Product Highlights" on the product page.
Hi, do you guys have a court that has the 3 point line all the way around? 30x30 didn't look like it was all the way around.
Brandon
We currently do not have that option on our courts. However, you may build a custom court using the flooring designer that can be found on the product page of our Outdoor Sports Tiles and then use our Game Line Paint to paint game lines per your need.
Are the measurements of the three-point line and free throw line NBA measurements or highschool?
We use high school measurements.
The size of our concrete pad is 26x30...can I use the kits to install the court even though the size is not exact.
Yes, you may install the court on your concrete pad. The 20'x24' court would work perfectly, however you may get the 30'x30' if you need a bigger court. These tiles are easy to cut, so you can use a tile cutter or power saw to cut them to fit your space as needed. Another option would be to build your custom court using the flooring designer on our Outdoor Sports Tiles. This designer will allow you to design a court that would fit your space perfectly.
Can you install this over blacktop
If by black top you mean asphalt, then yes, you can install the Outdoor Basketball Court Kits over it.
Our court is 26x30...how do I order the correct amount and sizing?
Courtenae Trautmann
Please see our Outdoor Sports Tiles and use the flooring calculator to calculate the number of tiles you would need for your court. This is the same product that we use to create the Outdoor Basketball Court Kits. You may also use the "Flooring Designer" located under "Product Highlights" to create a custom court.
I want to know do you sell smaller outdoor basketball court kits? I want something 10x10, is this possible? Thank you.
Pedenia Evans
Yes, absolutely! Please see our Outdoor Sports Tiles and use the "Flooring Designer" located under "Product Highlights" to create a custom court.
Does the Outdoor Basketball Court Kits have the lines painted on?
Yes, we do offer these kits with game lines in two sizes. Please choose the "20'x24' with game lines or 30'x30' with game lines options on the product page.
Hey I just leveled out an area by me and put stone dust and packed it u think I can put the tiles over that and it will be stable ?
Matthew Rodriguez
You may install these tiles stone dust base, we do recommend using these over a hard surface like concrete or asphalt. The weight of the tiles will keep them together so they would be stable to a certain extent.
Hi, wanted to make a basketball court 21 x 12 feet. what would I need and cost? thanks
suzznne
Please use the "Flooring Designer" on the Outdoor Sports Tile product page, located under the "Product Highlights" section to create your 21'x12' court. Once done, the designer will also give you the price under the "Add to cart" section.
What is the best way to clean this product. Can you spray it with A moss control Or bleach water
Omero
The easiest way to clean these tiles is by vacuuming any loose dust, dirt, or debris from the tiles and/or simply hose down the floor and let the self-draining design allow for the dirt and debris to be swept away.
What do you think about installing a 30 x30 court on top of crushed compacted driveway underlayment material?
lori barnaby
If it's compacted crushed granite, you may install this kit over it.
Installing tiles on concrete warehouse floor. Do the tiles have any thickness and adsorption, or will a rubber sub floor be required? Also is the floor responsive to the bounce of the ball?
REG
These tiles can be installed directly over the concrete floor. We have had customers install these kits over concrete and have no issues with the bounce of the ball.
Hi, I am In Perth (Australia - Western Australia) I like the 30" x 30" basketball flooring kit. Can you ship to Australia / How long would it take to ship / what is the cost of court matting tiles and shipping. Thanks, Frank H
FRANK HERRMANN
Depending on the size of the package, we may be able to ship directly to Australia, or you may have to arrange for a freight forwarder. Please call us directly for more information on shipping, etc.
Are the tiles ok to leave out in each of the four seasons? I live on the East Coast.
Jeff
Yes, the court consists of weather-resistant tiles that will withstand all seasons.
I currently have a cement slab used for a mini full court basketball. My father and I poured the cement ourselves, so it's not exactly perfect. It has small portions of it that when it rains, creates a small puddle. Will this be an issue if I install the rubber flooring on top of the current cement slab?
Moore Bucketz
If water were to seep onto the underlayment, the water would sit on top of the underlayment or get into the pores and evaporate. The water will not destroy or affect the underlay in any way. This should not be an issue.

Good evening Whitney, Because of you our kids are in love with our back yard. My son would sleep outside if we allowed him to. We finished the yard this past weekend and all four of them ages 13, 10, 8 and 2 have loved every moment. I want to thank you for all your help and support in putting this together. Many many people helped to make this come together and you were a big part of it. Your company is incredibly lucky to have someone as dedicated as you are. I am very sure I made the right decision going with you.

  Very happy
Erin K. from American Fork, UT wrote...
We are very happy with our purchase of these tiles and Rubber Flooring's price match guarantee. The outdoor Sportcourt tiles seem very durable and once you get the hang of how they snap together, it goes pretty quickly. We laid our 300 tiles over a leveled and compacted gravel area that we had covered with landscaping fabric. To snap the tiles together we had to put a hard board underneath because the gravel didn't provide a solid enough surface. Again, once we developed a system it went together pretty quickly. After getting them snapped together, we used a jigsaw to cut the tiles around the trampoline and remaining edges. That was a lot easier than we thought it would be and actually went fairly quickly. We look forward to a weed-free fun area for our kids for years to come. Sincerely, Erin K
