Soft Flex tiles are easy to maintain. Cleaning of these flooring tiles typically includes:
  • Vacuuming any loose dust, dirt, or debris from the tiles.
  • Simply hose down the floor and let the self draining design allow for the dirt and debris to be swept away.

Soft Flex Tiles are easy to install. Installation of these floor tiles typically includes:
  • Clean your sub floor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, grease, or other foreign material.
  • When installing the Soft Flex tiles, we recommend starting in the front left corner of the room and working your way out from there.
  • Make sure the female side (loops) of the tile is facing away from the wall.
  • After filling the left wall with tiles and the adjacent wall, proceed to fill the rest of the room with whole tiles.
  • When you come up to a wall or object, don’t worry. Just measure the area and cut the tiles with a sharp utility knife and put the trimmed tiles into place.
  • When trimming the tiles into place, make sure you leave about a 3/8” space between the tiles and the wall or obstruction.

Looking at the Soft Flex Tiles for a shower floor. It says they are "soft to walk on and mold and mildew resistant", but nothing about Slip/Skid resistance. Are these tiles slip resistant?
cyndy
Our Soft Flex Tiles are slip resistant. These tiles are vented allowing water to flow through and under the tiles to a drain. This keeps water from pooling on top of the tiles creating a safe and slip resistant flooring surface.
Do you have to use the female and male edges to keep the tile together? My shower stall is 3-foot x 32" square,
Bobi
You do not need to use the male or female edging on our Soft Flex Tiles to keep your flooring together. The tiles themselves interlock tightly together.
Want to use on a wood deck so you can walk on with bare feet but will these soft tiles hold up to sitting patio furniture or lawn chairs on them?
larry
You can install our Soft Flex Tiles on a wood patio where furniture will be. These tiles are softer underfoot compared to our hard plastic tiles but are still durable enough to have furniture on them. The vents on these tiles are pretty small, but we would recommend picking up any chair as to not damage the flooring or scuffing it.
I have a rooftop deck newly resurfaced with polyurea. Water is collecting on the steps and landing. I’d like to use your roof deck tiles on those spots only that drain water such as the soft flex tile. Is it soft enough underneath? I don’t want damage done to the polyurea. Your Deck Top and Interlocking Deck Top Roof Tiles appears to let water sit on the top of the tile and I don’t want that.
Joyce H
Yes, you may use our Soft Flex Tiles for this purpose.
Does the soft flex tiles come in an evergreen color? are the male and female edges beveled?
nicole
Our Soft Flex Tiles do not come in Evergreen, and the male and female edges are beveled.
I want to put your soft flex tiles on the floor of my pontoon boat. They will be exposed to direct sunlight. The current surface of my pontoon gets too hot to walk on in bare feet. The only purpose in using your tiles would be to have a cooler surface to walk on. Can you assure me that the surface of the soft flex tiles will not be hot to bare feet?
Julie B Cartwright
The Soft Flex Tiles will be cooler than you pontoon boat floor in direct sunlight.
Can the tiles be trimmed to fit using a box or linoleum knife? Is there a better tool to use than the knives mentioned?
JR
You can use any type of utility knife to cut our Soft Flex Tiles. These tiles are made of flexible PVC and are very easy to cut. With a sharp utility knife and a straight edge, these tiles cut just like butter.
How should I clean this mat? Can I use something like Lysol to disinfect it and how often should I clean it? I want to use it in the shower to enhance safety and prevent falls.
Yvonne
You can clean our Soft Flex Tiles with mild soap and water or with Lysol to disinfect them. These tiles are vented and are very comfortable underfoot making them great for showers. These tiles are also very slip-resistant, even when wet making them the perfect choice for any shower where you want to add safety and prevent falls.
Does this flooring have any available edging for edges that are exposed?
Tom McBride
We provide edging for our Soft Flex Tiles on our product page. Right below the add to cart button you will see them. We offer both male and female edging for this product.
My walk-in shower in basement slants to the drain in the middle of the room. Would these tiles still work?
Sharon Whitehead
Since these tiles interlock with each other, the tiles may not slope down to your drain properly. You can either tile over the drain with these tiles, depending on the size of the slant, or you can leave a hole where the drain is located.
What are the size of the holes in these tiles?
Ellie
The size of the holes in our Soft Flex Tiles are approx. 8mm in size.
How soft is soft?
Roy Lambrecht
Our Soft Flex Tiles are not super soft. We describe them as soft as they are more comfortable underfoot compared to our harder plastic tiles. They are essentially very flexible and will give a bit when walked on.
Do the Soft Flex Tiles have tapered edge pieces?
Tom Pollard
The edges that are provided with our Soft Flex Tiles are tapered edges. You can purchase these in the on-page accessory area on the product page.
I’m interested in ordering the soft flex tiles, but my shower floor is white, does the light grey look more white then grey?
To get the true color of our Soft Flex Tiles or any of our products, we recommend getting a free sample of the floor. You then will be able to match it up to your walls, decor, and more.
Can you stack several layers of rubber tile on top of one another in order to raise the height of a shower floor?
George
We don't recommend installing several layers of our Soft Flex Tiles on top of each other as you may run into stability issues, but you can do that to increase the height of your floor.
Was wondering if these tiles could be installed directly into the ground in front of an outdoor shed as a walkway in and out of the shed. They will get wet because of my sprinklers near by.
Val
Our Soft Flex Tiles can be used outdoors in front of an outdoor shed as a walkway. These tiles are very durable and will be able to withstand the elements. They are very easy to install and maintain and can be replaced easily if damaged.
My father in law has a large walk-in shower. Would the entire floor surface of the shower need to be covered with tiles to prevent the tiles from slipping? Or will they stay in place if we put them in the middle of the shower floor? He sits in the shower, so he might push on them with his feet.
You would not have to install our Soft Flex Tiles wall-to-wall to keep them in place. You can install them in the middle of a space, and the weight of the floor will keep the tiles in place.
We have a grassy area between our pool pump and pool that is usually wet and sometimes muddy. Is this the best type of tile for us to use?
You can use our Soft Flex Tiles as flooring in the areas that are wet and muddy. Since these tiles are vented, there is potential for you to still get muddy, so these may not be the best solution to your issue. We do offer deck tiles that may be better suited for your installation. You can find our range of deck tiles on our Composite Decking page.
Are these tiles safe to use for sports activities?
Rebecca
Our Soft Flex Tiles are not as durable as our standard sports tiles, so we would not recommend them for standard sports use.
I've had these since last September and really like them. I was wondering if they'd be ok to clean in my dishwasher? Thanks for a great product.
Jim
You can clean our Soft Flex Tiles in a dishwasher. They are dishwasher safe.
What is the best way to clean underneath the tiles?
Tara Larrabee
To clean under out Soft Flex Tiles, you can easily lift up the tiles to clean under any tile that gets some buildup over time. Since these tiles are vented, you can also use a pressure washer to clean between the vents.
How much weight will these tiles support? I am planning to install flooring in my basement so they would need to support the weight of a washer, dryer, freezer, and metal workbench.
Bill
To carry heavy load, we recommend using the Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles. These tiles are very easy to install and extremely durable.
It’s hard to see my small dog’s poop in the lawn. I want a safe path for guests from the driveway to the house. Would this be the best choice?
Yes, the Soft Flex Tiles are a good choice for this purpose.
Are these flexible enough to use in a walkway with a slight slope at one end and contains a few small tree roots? How are they secured to the ground to prevent slippage? I'm disabled and am a fall risk. My walkway has become a muddy slippery mess.
Holly
Our Soft Flex Tiles are made of flexible PVC and can be used for your purpose. If needed, you can use any type of utility knife to cut our Soft Flex Tiles around the tree roots. These tiles can be installed directly on the ground and the weight of the tiles will keep them in place. However, since these tiles are vented, there is potential for them to still get muddy, so these may not be the best solution to your issue. We do offer deck tiles that may be better suited for your installation. You can find our range of deck tiles on our Composite Decking page.
Can you out these Soft Felx tiles over EPDM membrane or with the plastic damage the membrane?
Liz
Our Soft Flex Tiles are rubber roof approved, hence can be used over the EPDM membrane.
Are there finishing edges?
MJ Prince
Yes, we offer both male and female edges for our Soft Flex Tiles. These can be found under "Accessories" on the product page, right under "Product Highlights".
Do these interlock with the Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles? I was thinking about putting the Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles under my steel frame above ground pool to protect the bottom of my liner from rubbing on my brick patio. I thought it might easier on our feet to put soft flex tiles under the ladder area for entry/exit from the pool.
Kent
Our Soft Flex Tiles won't interlock with the rugged grip-loc tiles.
Hi! I am looking for something to put on my apartment balcony outside so when I walk out I am not stepping on the wood slats. Would this be appropriate? If not, do you have a recommendation? Thank you!
Julie
Yes, you may use our Soft Flex Tiles over existing wood slats.
looking for floor for dog kennel. How soft and durable are these?
Cathy lockwood
The Soft Flex Tiles are very durable and will last you a very long time. These tiles have a softer feel and are perfect for dog kennels.
Are these latex.
Sarah
These tiles are constructed of a durable blend of flexible PVC.
I’m looking for a paving product to put on my outside upstairs deck that is covered in TPO membrane. Is this product safe for this application? I’m worried about it puncturing the membrane once there’s people walking and furniture on it. Thx!
Yes, these tiles can be used over a TPO membrane since they're made of a softer material that won't damage or puncture it.
Would these tiles be dutiable for an outdoor dog run?
Yes, these tiles can be used for an outdoor dog run.
Can these be used on a stray foam roof deck for patio furniture and walking
Christine Meeks
Yes, these tiles can be used on a foam roof deck.
How much weight are the tiles capable of supporting? I’m looking for wet area tiles for installing as home gym flooring that will need to support a power rack that can weight upward of 1000 lbs depending on how many weight plates are used. I’d like to have a surface that’s soft enough to be comfortable to exercise on but durable enough to support home gym equipment.
Alex
Our Soft Flex Tile is a PVC product that is used for shower/locker rooms rather than high impact/load areas. Hence, we do not recommend using these in home-gyms. Please use our rubber tiles, rubber rolls, or rubber mats for this purpose. The rubber products will provide you the cushion you need and also handle the heavyweights.
Can these tiles be used under an outdoor rug by a pool to help with water drainage?
Yes absolutely, these Soft Flex Tiles would be a great addition to allow an outdoor rug to drain and dry faster.
Was wondering if these would sink if I used them in the bottom of a kiddie pool?
The Soft Flex Tiles will sink. These can be used for the bottom of a pool.
I have a concrete back yard and am looking to toddler proof it so my son can use his slide. The slide is only several feet off ground but wondering if this can protect from any fall.
Bobby M
Our Soft Flex Tiles would definitely be softer than concrete. That being said, they are not really designed for impact resistance so we can not make any claims regarding fall protection. We do sell fall height-rated flooring that can be found under our playground category.
With these be good for a small covered front porch?
Yes, we have had many customers successfully install these on their porch.

After an initial disappointment because the product was out of stock, customer service provided a a 2 week delivery. The product arrived as promised. I used the Soft Flex Tiles in 2 showers. They look great, easy to install and cut to size to fit wall to wall. They feel great on my feet and most important they are not slippery when wet and soapy. Even my wife says they look good and are not slippery. Now we wait and see how they look over time and especially when the shower is cleaned.... Overall it is a great product so far.

Self-installed in below grade step in stall shower

Multiple suction mats tried on a below grade stall shower from built home of 1992; slippage was a roulette wheel juggling the morgue wagon to the home for my elderly 90 year old Mom. Who isn't steady with a cane on thick wall-to-wall carpet; having her slip going into the shower scared the SHIT out of me!!!! Apparently I was using Google with the wrong search words. Found these, got Teal color and installed them wall to wall on floor. They are raised to allow keeping the floor drain in place and every three weeks when the cleaning ladies come I can remove them so the shower can be thoroughly cleaned and I simply reinsert them. Usually I can pull them up as one unit, use pressure washer on the underside (stop mold from growing) let the sun from Tucson Arizona dry it and place back on floor as one unit. Tiles interlock making one unit sometimes do come apart, I just click them back in place once on the shower floor. Screw those suction cup mats get these the first time and be done with it!

Once you get the hang of the interlocking nature of the tiles, they go together well. I was able to customize the size inside a shower by cutting with tin snips They feel comfortable under foot.. I'm thinking I'll pull them up and toss them in the dishwasher from time to time.
