Recommended Uses – Jumbo coin tiles are an excellent multi-use floor tile. These floor tiles have been used successfully as garage flooring, trade show flooring, retail store flooring, in stadiums and military bases, on storage shed and locker room floors, and in-home gyms. These tiles have also been used in airport hangars, in commercial garages. These tiles typically work well in any area where a resilient flooring surface would be useful that is both durable and easy to maintain.
Note: Flex tile colors are produced in batches, which can lead to color variations in your order. All colors may present some color variation, but Black, Dark Grey, and Light Grey can produce the most. These three colors can vary greatly between batches and thus it is recommended that you order more flooring than is needed for mistakes and replacements. This, in, turn, gives you the greatest chance to keep continuity across your floor. Batching will also affect color variation between samples and your order with Black, Dark Grey and Light Grey showing the most variation.

Coin pattern interlocking floor tiles are easy to keep clean due to their impervious floor surface. Cleaning of these garage tiles typically includes:
  • Sweeping and/or vacuuming any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the tiles when necessary.
  • Periodic damp mopping of the garage floor tiles with a mild soap and water mixture. Some soaps commonly used include Dawn dish detergent and/or Tide laundry detergent.

Note: This is not a stain proof product. Street tar can cause staining to light-colored tiles and in most instances, this staining can be remedied with a cleaner called Purple Power. If you have performance tires, staining can occur with light-colored tiles. In most instances, this may not be remedied with a cleaner. If the staining on your floor does not dissipate, please contact our dedicated Customer Service team at 800-613-0996 who can further assist you.

Installation of interlocking tiles is very simple and typically done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:
  • First, clean your sub floor so it is free of all dirt, grease or debris.
  • Snap a chalk line on the sub floor 20” from one wall in your room. Snap another chalk line on the subfloor 20” from an adjacent wall. You should now have a pair of perpendicular lines making an approximate 90-degree angle.
  • Begin laying the interlocking tiles along the chalk lines, snapping the locks together as you go.
  • Leave the perimeter of the room open until the field is installed.
  • After the field is covered, go back and cut in lines along the walls in the room. Leaving a gap at the wall roughly the thickness of tiles being used is recommended to account for expansion and contraction of the floor tiles in varied temperature ranges.

  • Edging Installation Instructions
  • Insert the tile into the groove.
  • Next cut the transition strip to fit the desired area. You can adhere it to the subfloor if desired with a pressure sensitive adhesive.
Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives are usually not used since the weight of the locked together product is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, some double-sided tape or mat tape can be used around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.

What is the difference in material between the 4.5 mm Coin Flex tile and the 7 mm Coin Flex tile?
Anonymous
There is no difference material wise between the 4.5mm Coin Flex Tiles and the 7mm version. The only difference is thickness. The 4.5mm version if our residential version, whereas our 7mm version is designed for commercial installs.
My garage has black and light grey checkerboard tiles. How do you remove brown tire staining from the light grey tiles? The black tiles are fine. So far nothing seems to work.
Jacob Tulling
If the tires stain the tiles, there is no way to remove the staining. You would have to replace those tiles with black tiles. If street tar causes the staining, then Purple Power may remove the staining.
The edging displayed in the Accessories for 7mm Coin Flex Tiles does not have a description. The picture shows a beveled edge that could be used for a garage door threshold. But, there's no description of how the edging attaches to the course of tiles at the door. Can you explain? Thank you.
Randy H
The edging for our 7mm Coin Flex Tiles attaches to the flooring by way of a notch that is made into the edging. Essentially, you would just slide the tiles into the notch on the back side of the edging. We would then suggest placing some double-sided tape or glue under the edging to keep it in place.
What is the difference between the 6.5mm coin flex tiles and the 7mm coin flex tiles?
Erica C Aschan
The only differences between our 6.5mm Coin Flex Tiles and our 7mm Coin Flex Tiles are the thickness and the colors that are offered. Other than that, these tiles are made from the same material and are both commercially rated.
What sizes are available in the coin flex tiles.
Pat
Our 7mm Coin Flex Tiles are 19-5/8" x 19-5/8" in size.
Can the diamond nitro roll be installed on top of coin flex tiles? What adhesive would you use to install the diamond nitro roll?
Pat
You can install our Diamond Nitro Rolls over our 7mm Coin Flex Tiles. If you were to install these rolls over these tiles, we would recommend using a pressure sensitive adhesive.
If I install this and hose it down will water get underneath the tiles (risking mold growth etc.) Thanks
Arv
The interlocking seams are incredibly tight and should not allow liquids to flow through if properly installed.

The first time I ordered samples, I received a torn envelope with no samples. After requesting samples again, they were promptly resent. I found a pattern that I liked and mixed three colors. The 7mm flex coin tiles were in my garage six days after I ordered them. The next day I installed the appr. 17' square area in about 8 hours. I put full pieces just inside/along the garage door and centered the rest, requiring me to cut border pieces on three sides. I had a ball game to go to so I did not install the edging until the next day, which did not take long. I am happy with the tile material and the look of my garage floor. My wife likes it so much she showed it off to our neighbor.

Love my garage floor! Looks clean, easy to sweep away debris and will insulate when the weather turns cold again. Totally easy to install - I’m in my 60’s and did 30 tiles from inner door to garage door in one hour. I’m seriously thinking about doing the whole garage floor.

I just finished installing a 22 X 24 ft garage floor (light and dark grey tiles). It took about 4 hours to install the whole pieces and another 3 hours to make and install the edge cuts. I used the center-cross method to start the installation and simply filled-in the quadrants. Each tile fit perfectly with its neighbors. And, there were NO defective tiles. I found that cutting 7mm samples with a utility knife was extremely difficult and, therefore, dangerous. I contacted customer support and was told that another option was to use a shear cutter. I bought one on Amazon for about $130. I may never use it again. But, it was the right tool for the job. One caution. In extended, direct sunlight, the darker tiles will expand and buckle. The dark grey tiles at my open garage door rose about 1/2 inch off the floor after an hour in the sun. However, after closing the door to block the sun, the tiles returned to their normal dimensions in about 20 minutes. This is manageable. I highly recommend this product and the company's customer service.
