Practice Dance interlocking tiles are easy to maintain. Cleaning of these multi-use tiles typically includes:
  • Vacuuming or sweeping any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the Practice Dance Tiles when necessary.
  • Hose off or damp mop the floor tiles with a mild soap and water mixture for tough or caked on dirt and/or stains.
Practice Dance Tiles are easy to install. Installation of these floor tiles typically includes:
  • Clean your sub floor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, grease, or other foreign material.
  • When installing the Grid-Loc tiles, we recommend starting in the front left corner of the room and working your way out from there.
  • Make sure the female side (loops) of the tile is facing away from the wall.
  • After filling the left wall with tiles and the adjacent wall, proceed to fill the rest of the room with whole tiles.
  • When you come up to a wall or object, don’t worry. Just measure the area and cut the tiles with a sharp utility knife and put the trimmed tiles into place.
  • When trimming the tiles into place, make sure you leave about a 3/4” space between the tiles and the wall or obstruction.
  • Once the tiles are in place, you can then snap in the edge pieces, if you purchased them.
Note: Since our Practice Dance Tiles tiles feature a vinyl top adhered to the tile with a pressure sensitive adhesive, pressure may be needed to ensure that the vinyl top is fully adhered. You can easily accomplish this by walking across the floor or by using a flooring roller for larger areas.

Customer Questions & Answers

Don't see what you're looking for?
Will this scuff up the wood flooring?
The bottom of the tiles are plastic so you may choose to put down something in between the tiles and your wood flooring such as an area rug for a layer of protection.
How are the "Portable Practice Dance Tiles" different from the "Modular Grid-Loc Tiles" ?
The main difference between the Practise Dance Tiles and the Modular Grid-Loc Tiles is that there are more colors available with the Modular Grid-Loc Tiles.
Can these tiles go on top of carpet, or should they be placed on a hard surface?
The dance tiles will function best over a flat, solid surface. High pile, residential carpet can cause the tiles to not lay flat and the interlocks to not interlock. You can put plywood down between the carpet and dance subfloor for a solid surface.
How durable are your dance tiles? I want to use them in my garage but also expect to park my car in there while I'm not using it as a dance floor.
The dance tiles are durable and while not specifically designed for garage use, can handle the weight of a car. You should not turn your tires on the tiles or pull into the garage too fast, as it could moved the tiles or loosen the vinyl surface from the base of the tile.

  Very satisfied

We are very satisfied with our dance floor. We had been taking Latin style ballroom dance lessons from Rachel Arnold and Odin Greene of One 8 Count in a small, old run down studio. Our instructors could no longer teach there so that is when we decided to make a dance studio in the basement. They love our floor. When they are ready to built a studio, they will contact you.
