Description - Are you tired of boring gym floors? Look no further than US Rubber's Biggie Smallz! This rubber flooring is not only easy to clean and maintain, but it also brings the party to your gym with a unique combination of small and Big Chip colors. No need for a disco ball when you've got Biggie Smallz on the floor! And don't worry about any beefs with this flooring - it's mold and mildew resistant and backed by a 25-year warranty. Recommended Uses:
  • 1/4" - Made for basic home gyms and exercise rooms.
  • 8mm - Very durable for home and commercial gyms.
  • 3/8" - Most common thickness used in commercial gyms.
  • 1/2" - Ultra durable rubber designed for extreme use.
Material – Recycled rubber buffings and a mixture of small (1-3mm) and large (6-9mm) colored EPDM virgin rubber flecks. Recycled rubber buffings are the “Filet Mignon” of the recycled rubber industry since they are the cleanest, strongest, and most consistent raw material as compared to some of the cheap recycled crumb rubber alternatives available.
Width – Each roll is 4 feet wide.
Length – The rolls are custom cut to your desired lengths free of charge provided that each roll length is 15’ long or longer and in whole foot increments such as 15’, 16’, 17’, etc. You will normally receive an extra few inches on each roll. This allows for a quick and easy installation.
Thickness – Available in 1/4", 8mm, 3/8", and 1/2".
Weight – 1/4" rolls weigh approximately 1.5 Lbs. per square foot., 8mm rolls weigh approximately 1.9 Lbs. per square foot, 3/8" rolls weigh approximately 2.3 Lbs. per square foot, and 1/2" rolls weigh approximately 2.5 Lbs. per square foot.

These rubber rolls are ideal for use as flooring in home gyms, weight rooms, and high traffic walkways. They also work well as flooring for commercial gyms, CrossFit studios, and fitness centers. Additionally, Biggie Smallz™ Rubber Rolls are great as garage gym flooring, as basement flooring, and for multi-use areas like dance studios, playrooms, and classrooms. Maintenance Guide for Big Chip™ Rolled Rubber

Keeping your Big Chip™ rolled rubber flooring clean and well-maintained is easy with these simple steps:

  • Regularly vacuum any loose dust, dirt, or debris from the surface of the flooring.
  • Occasionally damp mop the rolls using a mild soap and water mixture. We recommend using Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent.

Note: Do not use any solvent or oil-based cleaners such as Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy's Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, etc. as these can break down the flooring over time.

When installing rolled rubber flooring, it is recommended that you use some kind of adhesive to prevent the rolls from moving around or sliding apart between adjacent rolls. The most common methods of adhering rubber rolls to the subfloor are:

A: Double-Sided Tape Installation
  • First, clean your subfloor so that it is free of all dust, dirt, and debris.
  • Loose lay your rolls in the room as you would like them to look after a complete installation. Let the rolls relax for up to 24-48 hours to ensure proper installation of your new flooring.
  • Note: Rolls may be directional so make sure the color matches on each roll. If the roll colors do not match, flip them or turn them 180 degrees to ensure color matches.
  • Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the room using a Straight Edge and a Utility Knife with a fresh blade. We recommend leaving a gap around the rolls roughly the thickness of the rolls being used to account for expansion and contraction.
  • Apply double-sided tape to the perimeter of each roll.
  • Place rubber rolls back into position on top of the double-sided tape.

B: Glue Installation
  • First, clean your subfloor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, and debris. Also, when gluing your flooring down, it is recommended that the subfloor is free of any moisture.
  • Loose lay your rolls in the room as you would like them to look after a complete installation. Let the rolls relax for up to 24-48 hours to ensure proper installation of your new flooring.
  • Note: Rolls may be directional so make sure the color matches on each roll. If the roll colors do not match, flip them or turn them 180 degrees to ensure color matches.
  • Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the room using a Straight Edge and a Utility Knife with a fresh blade. We recommend leaving a gap around the rolls roughly the thickness of the rolls being used to account for expansion and contraction.
  • Roll up the rolls at one end of the room. Put down a 10-foot long light layer of polyurethane adhesive and unroll 10 of the flooring into the adhesive at a time.
  • Repeat this step for every 10 feet of roll length until the entire roll has been unrolled into its desired position.
  • After all rolls have been glued down, it is often recommended to use a 100-pound roller on the floor to guarantee good adherence to the subfloor. If a roller is not available, walking on the flooring in small choppy steps may also work.

How does the Biggie Smallz compare to the vulcanized rubber mats?

The Biggie Smallz Rubber Rolls are not vulcanized, so they would be less dense than a vulcanized rubber product. These rubber rolls are still very durable and are unique in that they feature two different color chip sizes. The main difference between a vulcanized rubber product and a non-vulcanized product is that one is non-porous, and one is porous. The vulcanized products are non-porous, making them very easy to clean and maintain. To truly create a sanitary floor with a non-vulcanized floor, we recommend sealing the rubber floor with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer. Other than that, the products would be very easy to install and maintain and would be very slip-resistant, even more so when wet. They are also great for indoor and outdoor use and are resistant to mold and mildew growth.
Does it expel any toxic fumes or strong odors?
Our Biggies Smallz Rubber Rolls will have a rubber smell when you first install them, but this smell is not toxic. Our rubber flooring is tested regularly to ensure it is safe. To mitigate the rubber smell, we recommend mopping the floor with a mild soap and water solution with a synthetic mophead. You then would let the rubber floor air dry. You may have to repeat this step a few times to dissipate the smell fully. We also recommend allowing proper ventilation in the room where the flooring will be installed. What is the length and with of a roll?
The Biggie Smallz Rubber Rolls' width is 4' wide approximately, and you can order any length 10' and above in whole foot increments.
Can this product be used on steps? Or is there a product available?

The Biggie Smallz Rubber Rolls can be used as flooring on stairs. To install these rubber rolls on stairs, you will need to cut the rolls to fit the steps and then glue them with our polyurethane adhesive. To protect the corners, we would recommend using a stairnose.
Is it easy to cut the rolls to fit the room? What kind of a tool would you use?

Our Biggie Smallz Rubber Rolls are very easy to cut to fit any room with a sharp utility knife and straight edge. When cutting the rolls to fit, always remember to measure twice and cut once.
