Description - USFloors COREtec Plus is an evolution in luxury vinyl flooring. Being an entirely new category of flooring called Engineered Vinyl Plank flooring or, EVP for short, these planks and tiles are by far the most durable on the market today. These planks are constructed with the same materials other luxury vinyl planks are, but feature a waterproof inert core. This patent-pending Hydracore, which is constructed of recycled wood, bamboo dust, limestone and virgin PVC, is so waterproof that it can be submerged underwater for months and never swell. And since these vinyl tiles are inert, meaning they will not expand or contract, the need for expansion strips around your room is totally eliminated. COREtec also features a cork underlayment, making it softer, quieter and warmer than standard wood flooring and is backed by a lifetime warranty.
Material – USFloors vinyl flooring is constructed with virgin vinyl, and contains no hazardous metals or chemicals. The extruded WPC core, called Hydracore, is composed of recycled wood, bamboo dust, limestone and virgin PVC.
Size – USFloors COREtec Plus 5" Engineered Vinyl Planks are 5" x 48".
Thickness – ~8mm (5/16")
Wear Layer – 20 MIL (0.508 mm)
Weight – 5" wide planks weigh 2.63 Lbs each.
Recommended Uses – USFloors COREtec Plus vinyl planks and tiles have been built with long lasting durability in mind. These engineered vinyl planks have been designed for both commercial and residential use and are perfect for living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, basements, laundry rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms, playrooms, family rooms, dens, garages, offices and many other areas of your home or business.

  • USFloors COREtec Plus luxury vinyl flooring typically ships within 5-10 business days and typically delivers within 7-15 business days.
  • Once your vinyl flooring ships, an email will be automatically sent to you with your tracking information.

Engineered vinyl tiles and planks are easy to keep clean and maintain. Maintenance of the floor typically includes:
  • Daily or weekly vacuuming or dust mopping of dirt, grit, dust etc.
  • Use felt pads under chair and furniture legs to prevent scratching of the flooring surface.
  • Place door mats at all entrances to prevent tracked in dirt, rocks, moisture, and other debris.
  • Avoid using rubber backed mats as they can stain the flooring surface over time.
  • When mopping, use a damp and never a wet mop.
  • Clean up spills immediately to prevent damage to the floor.

Installation is simple, and is commonly done by our customers. Installation of USFloors planks and tiles is as follows:
  • Complete any necessary floor prep.
  • Start with the tongue side facing the wall.
  • After the initial starter board, press the end seam of the second plank into the end seam of the first plank, and then lock them together by laying the plank down. Continue working left to right.
  • Install the first plank in the second row by inserting the tongue into the groove of the plank in the first row. This is best done with a low angle of the plank.
  • Insert the long side seam at a slight angle first. As the top surfaces meet, rotate the plank down into the locked position. Engage the end seam, using a rubber mallet if necessary.
  • Planks may be cut with a utility knife using the “score and snap” technique, or with the use of a crosscut power saw.
  • Continue installing planks removing any gaps using a tapping block and a scrap of flooring to cover the tapping block. Be careful not to damage In*Step tongue and groove.
  • Protect all exposed edges by installing wall moulding and/or transition strips. Make sure that no plank will be secured in any way to the subfloor.

Is Swiffer jet for wood or the regular Swiffer jet suitable for use on the Coretec Plus floors? Thank you!

    Q:

Saw a 12mm core-tec floor today in the store. What's the difference between it and the 8mm shown

    A:

MM is typically used in reference to the thickness of the plank or tile. It sounds like what you were looking at would have been 12mm thick, whereas our COREtec flooring that we offer is 8mm thick. 12mm thickness is more commonly found with laminate flooring products.

    Q:

Is it true the Coretec plus doesn't expand or contract? Confused by this and using 1/4" spacers. And, it does not have to go through an acclimation period? Thnx

    A:

The COREtec does not expand or contract under normal conditions. We do still recommend the 1/4" space around your install in the rare instance there is come expansion in the floor. To ensure a proper install we do recommend an acclimation period of 24-48 hours as there may be an extreme environment change between warehousing and your home.

    Q:

Just finished putting Coretec down in our basement remodel. We have a large oak roll top desk. I am concerned about it leaving dents. Will dents appear? What do you suggest for padding under the desk? On another note. What is the best way to move the desk across the flooring?

    A:

While it is unlike that the COREtec floor will dent under weight, we do recommend using felt furniture pads to protect your floors from damage often caused by scratching of furniture. Don't push or pull items across the floor. If possible, use an air sled or even a dollie to move heavy items. You can also place plywood sheets down first and move the object over the plywood sheets.

    Q:

I understand that the material is waterproof, but is it recommended for full bathrooms where there would be a tub and toilet? Not as much worried about the material, as I am about water getting underneath the material.

    A:

The COREtec planks can be installed in full bathrooms with a tub and toilet. The locking mechanism on the COREtec is very tight, you should not have any issues with water getting under the material through the product. You should however consider using silicone caulking where the tub meets the planks so that you do not have an open are where water could potentially get underneath.

    Q:

Can these vinyl planks also be installed on the wall? For example, if I wanted to instal it as a half wall in the bathroom or as a baseboard thought the apartment.

    A:

Sounds like a unique application! Vinyl flooring is very versatile and a suitable material for wall applications.

Product looks great. Self install was pretty straight forward. Product locks together pretty good. Seems very scratch resistant. Had one scratch and after rubbing with a damp rag it disappeared. Love it so far. Feels solid under foot. RubberFlooringInc- Customer

COREtec Plus 5 review
5/5 COREtec Plus 5" Vinyl Planks
Bill from Riverside, CA
The flooring was easy to install. The surface of the planks have a slight wood scraped surface that adds character and is slip resistant. The 8 mm thick planks have a cork backing and click together and stay together.

DIY Basement Installation

The flooring is fantastic! I installed it in the basement without the help of a contractor and it was pretty easy. There are a variety of patterns in the wood with no repeats across the floor. I recommend this product and would definitely use it again.

LOOKS AND FEELS GREAT
5/5 COREtec Plus 5" Vinyl Planks
Anonymous from SC
Just had the Carolina Pine COREtec Plus floor installed in one of the bedrooms. It looks great and feels real nice under your feet. It is much quieter than the laminate we have in the hallway adjoining this bedroom. It does look a lot like wood with a slightly duller appearance. I am hoping it holds up the way it is promoted as I am seriously considering installing it throughout the house.
