Premium Extreme Mats are easy to clean and maintain. Maintenance of this vulcanized rubber flooring mats typically includes:
  • Vacuuming any loose dust, dirt, or debris from the rubber surface when necessary.
  • Occasional damp mopping of the rubber mats with a mild soap and water mixture. Some soaps commonly used include Dawn dish detergent and/or Tide laundry detergent.
Note: Do not use any solvent or oil style cleaners such as Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy’s Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, etc. since these types of cleaners will break down the flooring over time.

I'm looking into building an olympic platform... The construction will be 3/4" plywood and then 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats on top of the plywood... I want to know if the PEM will take the punishment of dropping bumper plates on to them?

Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats were designed for this purpose. These revulcanized mats are our most durable mats and will provide your subfloor with ample protection from the dropping of heavy weight. These mats are very shock absorbent and are very easy to clean and maintain and can be installed as full flooring or used as a stand-alone mat.
Hi, I am looking for a mat to do high impact cardio on -- I need something to help minimize and absorb the impact. Is this the right product for me?
Our Premium Extreme Mats will help to minimize and absorb the impact from high impact cardio exercises. Since these tiles are vulcanized, for some people, the shock absorbency is not exactly where they want it, so we do have two other mats that would work great as well. They are our Impact Mats and our Shock Mats. Both of these products are our best mats for anyone looking for optimal shock absorbency.
Are there any main differences between the 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats and the 3/4" Shock Mats in terms of floor protection? Was looking to protect my concrete slab when doing olympic lifts and was deciding between (2) Premium Extreme Mats or the two-piece Shock Mat which would run about the same price.

In regards to subfloor protection, both the 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats and the 3/4" Shock Mats will give you the same amount of protection. The great thing about the Shock Mats is that the two-piece mat is an interlocking mat, ensuring no movement while doing Olympic lifts and also no need for tapes or glue to keep the mats together. Another great quality about the Shock Mats is that the bottom of the mat has been designed to distribute the effects of dropping the weight through the mat instead of allowing it to pass through the mat. This means better sound dampening when lifting on a second floor and better protection for your subfloor.
I need exact 4 feet by 6 feet, but the size says 47" X 71" which is 1" less on both length and width. Is that incorrect?

The main difference between our Premium Extreme Mats and our Extreme Mats is that the Premium Mats are vulcanized. This means that the mats are non-porous and are more durable than our standard Extreme Mats. Another great quality is that our Premium Extreme Mats are more true to size and can be installed as flooring for a whole room or as a stand-alone mat. One last thing to consider is smell. Our Premium Mats have smell mitigants in them that help to reduce the amount of rubber and sulfur odors that can emanate from rubber flooring. Our Extreme Mats do not have this and thus are recommended for use in areas with ample ventilation.
Weather/water resistant?? I plan to keep one outside. If these are essentially a slightly better version of the Extreme Mats which are water resistant, does that mean that these are also water/weather resistant?

Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats are both weather and water resistant. In direct sunlight, these mats will fade a bit, but other than that they will not breakdown due to rain, snow and will not promote mold or mildew growth. These mats are non-porous and are our most durable mats we sell and great indoors and out.
I am turning an upstairs bedroom into a home gym and would like to use these on top of the carpet for the entire room. Will these mats stain the carpet (and if so, what do you recommend instead that is also 3/4”, or is there something we should place between the mats and carpet)?
Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats, when placed over dark carpet, won't stain the carpet. Over light-colored carpet, there is potential for the mats to stain. To prevent this, we recommend placing a plastic sheet under the mats to prevent staining on your light-colored carpet.

How are the mats installed? Can they be glued directly to the concrete subfloor?

You can loose lay our Premium Extreme Mats or glue or tape them. Typically people will loose lay the mats. You can glue these mats directly to a subfloor. If you do want to glue them, we recommend using our Polyurethane Adhesive.
In terms of the black color versus the colored, is there any difference in smell, particles or flaking, or performance? Is this purely a visual preference? Lastly, what would be some considerations people pick pure black versus the colored? Thank you

Choosing between a Black and Colored Premium Extreme Mat does not change the performance of the mat. The addition of color is purely for aesthetic purposes. Regarding flaking, since these rubber mats are vulcanized, they will not flake like standard urethane or stall mats found at your local farm and home store. Also, the smell is the same, whether you buy a Black mat or a Colored one. When it comes to why someone would choose a Black mat over a Colored mat, it really comes down to price. The price for our Black mats is cheaper than our Colored ones.

Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats can be used on a wooden Olympic lifting platform. These mats are perfect for Olympic lifts and are very shock abosorbent, helping to protect the subfloor underneath. They are also non-porous, making them very easy to clean and sanitize.
What is the difference in term of quality and rubber between this Premium Extreme Mats vs. Horse Stall Mats that are in my local Tractor Supply?

Our Premium Extreme Mats are vulcanized rubber, which is more durable and will last longer. These are also non-porous, which makes them easier to clean and sanitize. These mats also are finished on the bottom, allowing you to use them as a full flooring surface. The ones you get at Tractor Supply are unfinished on the bottom and thus are not ideal as a full flooring surface.
What is the difference between Premium Mats and Premium Extreme Mats, besides the dimensions?

There are many differences between the Premium Mats and the Premium Extreme Mats. One of the first differences is the thickness, the Premium Mats are 8mm and 3/8" thick, whereas, the Premium Extreme Mats are 3/4" thick. The surface of the Premium mats is smooth, whereas, the Premium Extreme Mats have a textured top. The last difference is the size of the mats. The Premium Extreme Mats are a bit smaller than 4' x 6' at 47" x 71", whereas, the Premium Mats are 4' x 6'.
Are these mats good for jumping rope? Also, will these mats lay seamlessly next to each other?

Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats are great for jump roping. If installed as a full floor, these mats won't be seamless but will appear virtually seamless.
Is it possible to roll these up when not in use?
Since our Premium Extreme Mats are so thick, they will be a little tough to roll up and store, but it is possible to do so. Just make sure to use a band around it to keep it rolled up.
Is the 3/4 premium extreme mat good for a treadmill that sits on a carpeted floor and is it California prop 65 compliant?
A treadmill can be placed on our Premium Extreme Mats over carpet. These mats are compliant under the current rules outlined in California prop 65.
I am very sensitive to the rubber odor. Do these have a strong odor? Also, will the odor dissipate and how long does this take? They will be placed in a basement with that is heated and cooled, but there are only a door and a small window for ventilation from outside.

Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats do have a rubber smell to them. To help mitigate this smell, we recommend mopping the flooring with a mild soap and water solution and letting the flooring air dry. You may need to repeat this a few times to dissipate the smell to your liking. We also recommend providing as much ventilation as possible to help mitigate the smell.
I'm looking for a mat to use under my floor jack (so that the jack can roll and I can protect my garage floor underneath). Will these be good for that use?
You can use a car jack over our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats. They are great for your application as they will allow you to roll your jack around and will help protect your garage floor.
Can these mats be cut to fit into a full room?

You can cut our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge. Cutting these mats will take a few scores to get through, but with some patience and elbow grease, you can fit these mats to fit your room.
Will these mats stain vinyl flooring?

Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats can stain certain vinyl floors. If the flooring has a wear layer as you find with luxury vinyl tiles and planks, then the rubber flooring won't stain it. If the vinyl flooring doesn't, then the rubber will stain the vinyl over time.
I will be using 6 of these to cover a room. Would it require tape, or can the mats simply be placed next to each other?
Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats do not require tape when installing them. You can simply loose lay the mats next to each other. If for some reason, there was moving while conducting certain exercises, we would recommend placing some double-sided tape under the mats.

When using on a garage floor - to convert the garage area to a gym — 1. Do I need to glue them down or are they heavy enough where they don’t slide (planning to tape a few together)? 2. Can I cut them to get the right fit (what kind of cutting tool would I need to use)? 3. Occasionally if I park my car on top, I’m assuming they can handle the weight. Has anyone done this?

You don't have to glue our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats. These mats are heavy enough to stay in place without tape or glue. You can cut these mats with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge. Since these rubber mats are thick and vulcanized, it will take a few cuts to get through the mats. You can park a car over these mats. The only thing that would affect the mats is oil from your car if it leaks. Most new cars don't, but if your car were to, we recommend adding one of our Nitro Rolls or an AutoFloorGuard mat where you park.
I am looking ot put a mat on a wood floor and use my vibration plate on it, will this stain, rub or damage the wood?

Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats will not stain or damage wood flooring. If you are overly concerned that it might, we suggest placing a plastic sheet under the mat to protect your wood flooring.
Do these mats shift? I will need 7 for my garage gym. Do I need to tape or glue to keep them from separating?

Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats typically will not shift while working out on them. They are pretty heavy and it takes quite a bit of force to move them. If for some reason the mats did slip, you can add some double-sided tape under the mats to keep them in place.
Are these mats smooth or textured?
The surface of our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats is textured. The bottom of the mat is smooth.
If I put this mat on a wood floor indoors and power lift on top of the mat, will the mat be thick and durable enough to protect the floor? Also, I am looking for different dimensions; is it possible to cut this mat with a boxcutter?
Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats are very durable and will keep your subfloor protected when doing any Olympic exercises on it. These mats are vulcanized, which is our toughest form of rubber flooring. Since these mats are so thick and are vulcanized, these mats can be a little tough to cut with a utility knife, but can. it will just take a few scores with the knife to get through the mat.
I want to finish the space above my garage. Right now, there are just floorboards laid over the rafters and beams. Would it be okay to lay this 3/4" mat right on top? Or should I put down a layer of sub-flooring first (and if so, any specific recommendations)?

As long as the floorboards are flat and solid, you can install our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats over them in your garage.
Are the 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats good for a doggies training facility?

Our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats would work great as flooring in a doggy training facility. These rubber mats are vulcanized, meaning they are non-porous. This ensures that no urine or other liquids would be able to penetrate into the mat, ensuring a very hygienic floor. Since these mats are vulcanized, they are also very easy to clean and maintain and easily sanitized. For the seams, we recommend using our Seam Sealer glue to ensure a water-tight floor.
I am looking for a thick rubber mat to put under my hot tub to reduce noise and vibration. The hot tub sits on a concrete slab currently but is close to the house. The size is 81 x 81. What would be the best solution? Would a rubber mat help?

Perfect for gym equipment since it is so thick it protects the floor. Definitely need two people to carry and help set. I would recommend to first air it outside to get rid of the smell, then after about a week you can bring it in.
