This is the second time we've purchased this product. Did an upstairs bedroom over Christmas, liked it so much we decided to do the downstairs family room. They are very soft, (not quite as soft as the Easy Street carpet tiles), but what I like better about them is that the fibers don't ″tramp down″, they keep their pile and you can't leave imprints in them like some others. Couple of tips: 1. You can completely change the way it looks depending on which way you ″lay the grain″. Experiment in different parts of the room and different lights to find the way you like best. 2. Use double-sided carpet tape. The permanent kind. We used the indoor/outdoor for better adhesion. 3. While it is difficult to ???????????????????? hide the square's lines, you can diminish them. Don't just use the next square you pull out of the box. Before adhering it, go through however many you need to in order to find one that ″blends″ the best. 4. Be sure you are laying each square with the grain going the same way. Like I said before, it can completely change the shade of the carpet. Unless it's part of a pattern you are going for I guess. But for a solid carpet look, make sure they're all laying the same way. They are very easy. I did the entire family room (roughly 300 sq feet) in about 12 hours over the course of 3 days. Shipping does take a little while. They say it will ship in like 3 days, but mine didn't actually leave the warehouse for 2 weeks. And depending on how big the order is, it may have to be delivered by freight. In that case, I had to set up a delivery time with Fed-Ex, then had a huge semi pull up on front of my house. Just keep that in mind if you live on a narrow street.
