Description - Our 7/8" solid hardwood, sprung hardwood system is ideal for all types of indoor sports such as basketball or volleyball, either in your home or as an essential piece of a professional training center or competition arena. These Hardwood Indoor Court floors are professional grade and are the exact flooring you will find in a professional volleyball or basketball facility. They provide excellent shock absorption and resilience, which minimizes the risk of injuries. The clip system used allows the solid hardwood planks to flex independently over the 3/8” sports foam. Since there are no nails used for installation, you can easily take up the floor and reinstall it elsewhere if desired.
Sprung flooring is essential for training for many reasons. Beyond creating an aesthetically professional environment, sprung floors absorb repetitive impacts that could otherwise induce chronic injuries like shin-splints, tendonitis, and joint-pain. Additionally, the benifits of creating a practice space with the same conditions of a professional court cannot be understated.
Installation - Our sprung flooring is easy to install with the spring-clip system, making it possible to install a hardwood court floor in your own home or facility without the cost of professional installers. See our videos above for a tutorial on how easy it is to install.
We suggest using 3/8" SportFoam underlayment for all activities with the 7/8" wood. 3/8" Underlayment has been found to provide the best performance with this wood thickness.
Important Note - Clips, glue, and sprung-underlayment must be ordered to accompany this product for installation. They can be found under accessories. Please note they will not included with the purchase of a case.
Meets Listed DIN Standards
Shock Absorption
- A floor without proper shock absorption leads to chronic fatigue and injury. Our hardwood court flooring meets the DIN standard of 53% shock absorption.
Resilience
- Without proper resilience a floor lacks energy-return, causing extra strain on the joints. Our flooring carries a 2.52mm Resliance rating, in line with DIN standards.
Surface Friction
- It is always suggested to build a practice space with the same surface characteristics of the space you will be competing in, our floors have a friction rating of 0.5 (Surface friction should be within a 0.5 to 0.7).
Impact Isolation
- Athletes should not be able to influence the space of others on the floor. A floor's characteristics should be localized to the individual. Standards allow 15% deflection at a measurement of 20" from the test location. Our floors meet or exceed those DIN standards.
