Create fun and unique rugs and floors with carpet tiles. Available in many styles and colors, these floor tiles are certain to make any room pop. So why would you choose a carpet tile over standard carpet or an area rug? Well, versus standard carpeting, carpet tiles are easier to install and maintain. For these tiles, no professional is needed for installation, and if one were to become damaged, you can easily remove and replace it. Compared to area rugs, the fact that you can create unique area rugs that no one else would have is a huge plus. There are so many basic area rugs out there that it is tough to make your room stand out in the crowd. And who wants to be like everybody else? The goal is to be the Jones’, and carpet tiles help you do that.
So you still aren’t sure carpet tiles are for you? Well let’s go over some of the features of carpet tiles that make them one of the most durable and versatile floors in the market.
One of the major advantages to carpet tiles is the fact that they are very easy to install. Carpet tiles can be installed in three different ways.
- Self Adhesive
Interlocking carpet tile squares are a DIYer’s dream. These tiles look like puzzle pieces and are installed the same way. They are so easy a kid can install them..literally. These carpet tiles either come with edging that allows you to create a finished edge or no edging. For floor tiles with no edging, simply cut with a sharp utility knife to create a finished edge.
Self adhesive or Peel & Stick carpet tiles are one of our most popular tiles. These carpet tiles are very easy to install and can be installed anywhere in your home or business. These carpet tiles feature an adhesive backing allowing you to place these over any subfloor. Depending on the quality of the adhesive used, these tiles may or may not leave a sticky residue when removed. A good way to tell what type of adhesive your tile has is to put your finger on the adhesive and, if it leaves a residue on your hand, it will leave a residue on your floor when removed.
Glue-free tiles are just as stated: carpet tiles that don’t require glue. If you were to use these floor tiles as a rug, then all you need is some double sided carpet tape. The same could be said for most whole floor residential installations. For commercial applications, it is recommended that these carpet tiles be glued. This will ensure that the carpet tiles stay in place with the higher amount of traffic and perform at top level for the life of your floor.
Carpet comes in several fiber types and each one has their pros and cons. So which one should you choose? Well, let’s break down each one to see which is best for each application.
Olefin is one of the least expensive carpet fibers and is very common in cheaper, standard carpeting and carpet tile squares. This fiber is very strong and fade resistant, mildew resistant, as well as being resistant to abrasion and sunlight. All of these qualities make it great for commercial carpet tile applications. However, one major drawback to this fiber is that it does not hold up well to oils and can be stained by them. So the next time you go into an office building and you see that large black abyss of a stain that never goes away, you’ll know they must have went cheap and chosen Olefin.
Polyester, or PET as it is also called, has become one of the hottest fibers on the market. This is due to its low cost and durability. This fiber is very durable and resistant to water and staining, making it great for any residential or commercial application. Another great feature of this fiber is its high color retention and consistency. What this means for you is that when you have several solid colored tiles of the same color next to each other, they will all look the same. This can’t be said for other fibers.
Nylon is the most common fiber used in carpeting. This fiber is the ‘Cadillac’ of carpet fibers. The reason why it is so popular is the fact that nylon doesn’t burn, it melts. This makes it great for fire codes, which is why nylon carpet tiles are popular in commercial buildings, condos. and apartments. This fiber is also resistant to heat, insects, fungi, mold, mildew rot and many chemicals, so staining this carpet is very tough. Nylon is also colorfast and less absorbent than wool or cotton, which is great for homes with children or pets. One drawback to nylon is that there are batches in color. If you were to place multiple orders of the same floor over a period of time, you would get different shades of the tile you purchased, so you could essentially have 50 shades of grey on your floor!
Now that we have covered the show piece of our carpet tiles, the fiber, it is time to cover the workhorse of the tile, the backing. Carpet tiles feature a multitude of backings that all perform the same type of function: they keep the carpet tile and floor together. We offer carpet tile backings in PVC, Plastic, Polyurethane Cushion, Polyester Felt, Bitumen, Rubber and Foam. All of these backings provide stability to the carpet tile and can also add comfort. Our rubber and foam backed tiles will provide you with the most comfort.
We offer a wide range of carpet brands that will suite a multitude of needs. From the fun and whimsical to the office hearty, we have the perfect floor tile option for you.

Milliken’s carpet tile squares are our most residential carpet tiles. These tiles feature a self-adhesive backing and look and feel like standard carpeting. Easy to install and maintain, these carpet squares are great for any room in your home. These tiles are great for carpeting man caves, basements, fan rooms and much more. These floor tiles feature a vinyl backing and a nylon fiber. Easy to install with a peel and stick backing, these tiles are a DIYer’s dream. Featuring a polyester fiber made from recycled bottles, these carpet tiles are not only durable but environmentally friendly. The Foss carpet tiles are perfect for both indoor and outdoor applications. They are mold, mildew and fade resistant, which is what makes them so versatile!
Mohawk carpet tiles are a commercial grade carpet tile great for both commercial and residential applications. These commercial carpet tiles feature a PVC backing with a solution-dyed nylon fiber. These carpet squares are under our glue-free category and can be installed with either double sided tape or glue. Our Mohawk Carpet Tiles are available in several styles and colors, making these tiles great as flooring for a room or as a custom area rug.
So what makes a carpet good for outdoor use? There are many factors to consider when choosing the right carpet tile for your outdoor space. One of the first things you will want to look at is the fiber type. Not all fibers are best suited for the harsh environment that can be found outside. Sun, water, rain, and animals can do a number to a carpet, which brings me to the first rule: do not use nylon fiber carpet outside. Nylon, even though it is durable and strong, fades in direct sunlight, so your nice, beautiful, red carpet tile will end up as a nice shade of pink. Well, at least then you would be ready for October every year!
One sweet perk of our carpet tiles is that they all ship free! And who doesn’t like free? So no matter the amount of carpet tiles you purchase, there will be no charge to you for delivery. For smaller orders, the tiles will be shipped to you via Fedex Ground, but for larger orders they are shipped by freight. For all freight deliveries lift-gate and curbside delivery come standard and a 24 hour call ahead appointment will be made.

1. Clean it up. Put away the stray objects, and get that room looking ready to impress to get the cleanest, most attractive shot of your floor.
2. Lighting, lighting, lighting! Is everything! Dark, evening shots will not get you the winning photo. Open the blinds and let that natural light shine in! If you really want to get fancy, take a look at where your light is coming from. Shooting directly into the light can come out harsh and blown out - try experimenting with different angles.
3. Action. We love photos of people enjoying our products and voters do too. We'd love to see the flooring in action.
