Description - AcoustiCORK RC1000 Rubber/Cork underlayment is the thicker version of RC500 and has also been designed to be used under ceramic tiles and hardwoods. This underlayment combines all the qualities of both rubber and cork which makes it very versatile. This flooring underlayment combines the excellent sound proofing qualities of the rubber with the improved adhesive properties of the cork granules. This allows for the flooring to be directly bonded to the underlayment surface unlike other cork underlayments. But a vapor barrier may be needed if specified by a manufacturer’s warranty. Just like the RC500 series, this flooring underlayment provides superior crack suppression, which protects the flooring surface from cracking due to cracking in the substrate. This product has also been shown to provide more sound proofing qualities than 5mm rubber as well.
