Are these sturdy enough for a large horse? Are they easy to install?
Mindy Elgart
Our 3/4" Portable Stall Mats are sturdy enough for a large horse. These tiles are made out of very high-density foam and are great for any type of horse, cow, or any other large animal. The only thing you may notice is that the animal's hooves may leave impressions in the flooring over time. These tiles are very easy to install. They are interlocking tiles and also feature two removable edges pieces. You can easily turn any tile into a corner, border, or center tile with ease. The only tools that you may need would be a sharp utility knife and straight edge for straight, clean cuts.
Are you these made out of rubber similar to the normal 4'x6' Horse Stall mats or a different material?
swec
Our 3/4" Portable Stall Mats are made from high-density foam. Since these tiles are made with foam instead of rubber, they are lighter weight but are still durable. They won't be able to handle the super heavy weights without indenting, but if you place any heavy equipment on the tiles, we recommend placing furniture sliders under the feet of the equipment. Also, these interlocking tiles are non-porous which makes them easy to clean and sanitize helping to prevent that 'gym smell' people smell at local gyms.
Can these tiles be used outside in a shaded area under an overhang?
Zoe
Our 3/4" Portable Stall Mats are made from foam but are a high density designed to be used in outdoor and harsh environments like horse stables and the like. So these interlocking foam tiles can be used in a shaded area under an overhang.
Hi there, do you have the edge pieces available for this horse stall tile system? Could not find on the website. Thanks!
Elizabeth Gillmor
If you are looking for beveled edges, we currently don't have any for our 3/4" Portable Stall Mats. Each tile does come with two removable edge pieces, but nothing beveled at the moment.
What are the dimensions of these tiles?
Our 3/4" Portable Stall Mats are 2' x 2' in size. The interlocked size for these tiles is 23.13" x 23.13".
Are the portable stall mats absorbent?
Our 3/4" Portable Stall Mats are not absorbent. They are made with a high-density EVA foam that is non-porous, making them great for horse stalls, barns, and stables.
Why would I need ten tiles for a four by four square mat? It seems to me four tiles would do. I want to put in under an air compressor to minimize noise/vibration.

For our interlocking tiles, you will lose some square footage when you interlock them. So even though our Portable Stall Mats are 2' x 2' in size when interlocked, they cover and area that is 23.13" x 23.13". Now since you will be keeping the edging on for your install, you will gain square footage back. So for your install, 4 tiles would be enough to cover the area under your air compressor.
Do you think this would be safe in a chicken coop? My chicken coop is about 3 feet off the ground and has a wood floor with a small space (about a 1/2 inch) between heavy boards. I want to replace the flooring because it is already decayed and falling apart. Would you suggest this or a true rubber floor? I don't want my ladies to get sick from pecking/ smell—4 grown hens. Thanks for your help. I will buy it as soon as I do the math.

Our 3/4" Portable Stall Mats can be used as flooring in a chicken coop. These tiles are non-porous and can be easily cleaned and maintained. These tiles are made from foam, so they don't have much of a smell at all. If they were to peck at the flooring, that is ok as the flooring is not toxic in any way.
Would these 3/4 “ portable stall tiles work in a garage for work out activities & then parking cars @ night?
These tiles are a great addition for tough workouts and can also take the additional weight of parked car. Because these mats are made of high density foam, the weight of the car might leave indentations from where it is parked. These tiles would be a great compromise instead of an expensive rubber flooring that you can work out on and also park a car on. Plus, if any tile becomes damaged you can always just replace it!
Can these be installed and left outside in a more northern state climate where they would be exposed to direct sunlight in the summer and snow/ice in the winter? I wouldn’t be concerned about fading, rather if they would physically deteriorate. Use would be primarily in the summer but removal for winter would not be practical.

EVA foam is extremely durable and can handle all types of weather. These tiles can be left outside for their lifetime, however that length of time may vary because of the weather conditions in your area. These tiles are UV stable and will not fade from sunlight.
I was thinking of using these mats for a dog training/wellness facility. Will these hold up to dog nail traffic? Not asking about digging, just about the use/wear as far as training goes.
If the dog's nails are trimmed, there shouldn't be any damage from normal use on our 3/4" Portable Stall Mats. Typically we see damage to the tiles when dogs' nails are not trimmed and digging to perform moves.
Would these hold up for flooring in a chicken coop? There would be pine shavings over tiles, but chickens naturally tend to scratch.
You can use these tiles in a chicken coop. Even though these foam tiles are harder than our standard foam tiles, they would still get scratched up from the chicken's claws, so eventually, you may have to replace them.
