Does your carpet have a rubber backing? Does it need to be glued down? water proof?

The backing is not rubber. This is waterproof, and you would want to glue it down.
How will this hold up for houseboat decking. Exposed to sun and weather daily?

Will a outdoor carpet be good to cover a wood deck and will the carpet be too hot to walk on when the temperature is high

Outdoor carpet is used all the time to cover wood decking. We have had no general complaints regarding heat of the carpet underfoot.
Do you finish the edges so it can be used as an area rug outside ?
