Customer Questions

Don't see what you're looking for?
Would these hold up well to regular contact with a dogs nails or would they likely leave marks/pits in the tiles?
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Soft Rubber Tiles feature a durable rubber top that helps to keep the flooring from being damaged by dog nails. If the dog were to claw at one area constantly, there is potential for them to destroy the tiles, but under normal circumstances, they wouldn't.
Are these soft rubber tiles non-toxic?
Logan
Our Soft Rubber Tiles are non-toxic. We test our foam flooring products on a regular basis, and testing for these can be accessed on our sites, or you can get a printable copy of the testing from one of our Flooring Heroes either via phone, chat, or email.
Do these tiles damage hardwood flooring with adhesive or petroleum content? Also, can an elliptical be placed on it with stability?
Ana
Our 3/8" Soft Rubber Tiles won't damage hardwood flooring. The backing on our tiles is a high-density EVA foam and does not contain any adhesive or petroleum. You can place an elliptical over these foam rubber tiles. The elliptical will not fall over or be unstable. The only thing you may notice is some impressions where the feet of the equipment sits. To prevent these from becoming permanent, we recommend using furniture sliders under the feet of your elliptical.
Are the rubber tiles waterproof and would they be good to use inside an outdoor screenhouse?
Kathleen M Berger
Our 3/8" Soft Rubber Tiles are water resistant, not waterproof. These tiles would work great in a screened in outdoor space. These tiles are slip resistant whether dry or wet and are mold and mildew resistant.
Will cats be able to claw through the rubber topped mats? They destroyed my previous foam mats. Would these mats work for home gym area - mostly aerobic, HIIT, and weights (no more than 40lb dumbbells)?
Pam Koh
Animal claws may be able to destroy our Soft Rubber Tiles. The rubber is bonded to the foam bottom, so if they can find a weak spot, they may be able to destroy the tiles. These tiles would be way harder to destroy compared to our standard foam tiles, so from our stance, these would be the best flooring choice for any home gym where animals may play. These tiles feature the best of both worlds and are one of the best flooring options for any multi-use gym. You can drop weights on these tiles without destroying them or creating indentations. They are very shock absorbent and would be great for HIIT training and aerobics.
I see that you suggested furniture sliders to put under an elliptical to protect the tiles. What sliders do you recommend that would be safe and not “slide” while using the equipment?
Megan Wiedt
Waxman has a wide range of furniture sliders that would be perfect to put under an elliptical machine over our 3/8" Soft Rubber Tiles. You can find their sliders at any local retail store.
Does the recycled rubber top surface smell or give off a strong rubber scent?
Rob
When Impact Rubber Tiles are new they have a smell of fresh rubber, but that scent fades within the first week or two and eventually the smell of rubber dissipates completely.
Can I use a rolling chair on these mats?
You can use a rolling chain on our 3/8" Impact Rubber Tiles. The only thing you will notice is if a chair is in one spot for a long time, you will see indentations where the wheels sat. To prevent this, we recommend using a chair mat in the area where your desk is located.
