Customer Questions

Don't see what you're looking for?
I want to put this is my bedroom, will my bed or dresser be too much weight for them? I want something more expensive than carpet but I love carpet better than hardwood floors?
courtney lynne hoffman
A bed or dresser can be placed over our 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles. The weight of the bed and dresser will leave an indentation in the tiles, but that indentation won't be noticeable unless you decide to rearrange the room. To help to prevent this indentation, we recommend placing furniture sliders under the bed and dresser.
I’m thinking of installing these carpet tiles in my basement as a long term solution. Will these tiles be ideal for that?
Our 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles are perfect as a long term flooring solution in a basement. These tiles are very easy to install and maintain, and since the carpet is attached to a foam pad, you will be able to add warmth and comfort to your basement. These tiles are also mold and mildew resistant and can be easily removed and cleaned if there ever was a major flood.
I am looking at tech specifications sheet. What does CPSIA & CFR mean? Are these viewable documents on line? What are the units of the detection limit? I do not see any temperature absorbing data? Are there any?
Albert
CPSIA & CFR are names of tests that were done on our foam tile flooring. CPSIA stands for the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, and CFR stands for Code of Federal Regulation. The detection limit for our Formamide testing is in parts per million. We don't have any testing for the R-value of our foam products. That would tell you the insulating value of our flooring.
Can I use this in a screened porch that is subject to rain, snow, and the temperature variance of the midwest?
Anonymous
Our 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles can be installed in a screened porch. These tiles are very easy to clean and maintain and are resistant to mold, mildew, and staining. These qualities make these tiles perfect for this application. If for some reason the tiles get ruined, you can easily remove the tile and replace it with a new one.
Concerning the 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles. Will the high density foam backing be safe to go directly over a laminate floor? For example, any discoloring of laminate or will foam eventually adhere to the laminate, if the carpet tiles are ever removed?
Anonymous
Our 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles are safe to install over laminate flooring, or any other hard, flat flooring surface. These tiles will not stain any flooring underneath and will not adhere to the flooring underneath. These interlocking tiles are very easy to install and remove. So if you move, you can just pull the tiles up and install them in your new home.
Would these be a good option for a college dorm room? Are there any sets available (storage bag plus tiles?)
Natalie
Our 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles would be the perfect floor for a dorm. These tiles are stain resistant and are also very easy to clean, install, and remove. You can get any of our foam tiles with a case. We offer three types: Soft Cases, Wheeled Soft Cases and Wheeled Hard Cases. Either you can purchase the tiles with a case in one of our trade show kits, or you can purchase the tiles and cases separately.
How many inches does the edge add to the tile?
Janice
The edging on our 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles adds about an inch to the tile. So the tile size without the edging would be 23.12" x 23.12".
I am interested in installing the prem 5/8 carpet tiles in a bedroom for a home gym. With an exercise bike and total gym. In your questions, it states heavy items can leave intentions. I know with regular carpet & padding, furniture indentions will subside after a couple of days. Will this have the same type of expectations? Or are the indentions permanent?
Hershey
Depending on how long and the item is on the flooring will determine really how long the indentations will last. If the items are only on the flooring for a short period, then the indentations should subside after some time. If the furniture is left on the flooring for several weeks or months, then you may still have some indentations even after the furniture has been moved. Our tiles are made from a different type of foam compared to to the typical rebond that is used as carpet padding. Rebond is made not to hold memory and typically what you see as an indentation is really the carpet fibers being pushed down. Over time with regular vacuuming and cleaning, the fibers and pad return to their original state. Our foam tiles, on the other hand, are not like that as they are made from more dense foam.
Can these be cut to size?
Shalan Galtenberg
You can cut our Premium Soft Carpet Tiles can be cut easily with a straight edge and sharp utility knife.
Are these tiles fire rated? If so, what is the fire rating?
Matt
Our 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles are considered a toy, so are not tested the same way as other flooring types. So they do not carry a fire rating.
What type of adhesive is best to mount carpet tile to the wall?
Raul Ramos Jr
To install our Premium Soft Carpet Tiles, we would recommend using a pressure sensitive adhesive. All you would need to do is apply pressure to the flooring once applied to the wall.
Are these tiles rated for heavy items? Our display items can weight a couple hundred pounds and can be tall. I don't want them to be unstable if they are not level due to the tiles not being able to hold the weight. I also have displays on wheels and again want to be able to roll them around. (will it create dimples where the wheels are if left in that spot for a period of time?)
Georgette Cash
Any heavy items will leave indentations in our 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles. If you roll something heavy on the tiles, it may leave an impression on the tiles as well, but these indentations should go away over time. For items that will be on the floor for a long period, we recommend using furniture sliders under the items to prevent permanent indentations.
Does this premium soft carpet come in rolls vs. squares? And if so what sizes?
Wayne Meinhart
Our Premium Soft Carpet Tiles only come in tile form. The size of our tiles is 2' x 2'.
Could these tiles be placed over carpet? I’m not ready to remodel and am looking for an alternative.
Julie
You can install our 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles over a commercial grade low-pile carpet with ease. Over a plush, thick pile carpet with a thick pad, these tiles can still installed over it, but there is potential for a tripping hazard due to the fact that the pad under the carpet becomes depressed.
Do the edges come with the tiles? If not, I cannot find on the site, where the edges are so I can buy them with the tiles.
Janice
Each 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tile comes with two removable edge piece. We include them with every tile, so there is no need to try and buy them on their own. These edges allow you to turn any tile into a corner, border or center tile.
You state that the Premium carpet tiles are 'non-toxic.' What does that mean? What chemicals are used in the process of making these? Is formaldehyde used in manufacturing? Are there any flame retardants in the products? I am concerned about off-gassing and smell as it would cover my entire basement slab and kids will be regularly playing down there.
George
Our Premium Soft Carpet Tiles are very safe and use no formaldehyde or flame retardants in the making of the tiles. These tiles are tested regularly and have no formamide or phthalates in them either. If you would like to get a copy of the testing for these tiles, please feel free to reach out to one of our Flooring Heroes via chat, phone, or email, and they will get you a copy of our testing.
How do these hold up with repeated installation and removal for trade show application?
Wes
Our 5/8" Premium Soft Carpet Tiles are one of our most durable trade floors and can last for several trade shows without showing wear and tear. This carpet features a nylon fiber which is more durable and also has Scotchguard applied to help keep it from staining. These tiles are very lightweight and are easy to install, uninstall, and store. Since these tiles are foam backed, you are getting a portable trade show carpet at a fraction of the cost.
Can I install this carpet on my deck that is exposed to the weather elements year round?
JOEL G HENDERSON
The Premium Soft Carpet Tiles would be a great addition to your deck as they are incredibly durable and easy to clean. They are also mildew and mold resistant which makes them easy to care for.
Are the carpet tiles safe on real hardwood floors?
Christine
Premium Soft Carpet Tiles are made with a soft EVA foam bottom that is safe to put on all flooring without risk of scratching it. You would want to ensure that the two surfaces are clean and there is no debris that could cause any unforeseen scratching, but as long as the floor is clean you should have nothing to worry about.
I'd like to do half the basement with 3/8" versalock rubber tiles and half with the 5/8" carpet tiles can they be linked together? Are there 5/8" versalock tiles? and can those be matched together?
Christopher Scott Clapp
Unfortunately, those two types of tiles use different interlocking systems and cannot be used to lock together. They can be butted up against one another with the edged that are provided, which is probably preferable because they are two different thicknesses.
Is there any floor adhesive that can be used to attach the flooring a little more securely to a basement cement floor? Is liquid nail a product I can use? Thanks!
Dave McCavitt
Any carpet tape, carpet tile tabs, or carpet glue would do the trick. We have several options available on our site. We have not tested Liquid Nail, but in theory it should work as well.
Can you use this material on walls? We are looking to put this on walls for a golf simulations booths.
Lee Esser
This material can be used on walls. To install, it is recommended that you use a pressure sensitive adhesive. Then simply apply pressure to the flooring once applied to the wall.
