Don't see what you're looking for?
Will electric subfloor heating pads heat the room, or are these tiles too thick?
AK
If you install our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles over electric subfloor heating, you will not feel the benefits of having it. The rubber will act as an insulator and keep the heat trapped under the tiles.
Can I lay these on top of concrete patio? If so, do they have channel underneath that allows water to flow through?
dave
You can install our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles over concrete, and they will channel water underneath the tiles. The tiles are somewhat elevated over the subfloor allowing water and other liquids to flow under the tiles and out.
What is the hardness of the 5/8" evolution rubber tiles on the Shore A scale?
Mark
Our Evolution Rubber Tiles have a hardness of 55 on the Shore A scale.
Would there be any concern with placing a 300-pound treadmill on top of this, since the tiles are not solid? Would this cause damage to the tile? Or should I put something underneath the treadmill feet to distribute the weight across a larger area?
Andy Vuyovich
You can place any type of fitness equipment over our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles without it causing damage.
Can I install/use it on carpet flooring?
Jo
You can install our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles over carpet. These tiles install best over commercial-grade carpet. When installed over plush carpet, there is potential for the tiles to separate a bit. To install over plush carpet, we recommend placing a 1/4" thick plywood board over the carpet to keep the tiles from separating.
Are these tiles good for a CrossFit gym where heavy weights would be dropped on it?
Julian
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles are the perfect flooring for any CrossFit gym. These rubber tiles are designed to be durable enough to drop heavy weight on but at the same time are shock absorbent, helping to protect your joints and your subfloor.
Will these work on a concrete basement floor? I know that a basement floor has to breathe to allow water vapor to escape.
JT
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles can be installed in a basement with a concrete floor.
Can I lay these over electrical subfloor heating pads?
AK
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles can be installed over electrical subfloor heating pads.
Can these be used outdoors?
Patrick Fahy
You can use our Evolution Rubber Tiles outdoors. Since our Evolution Rubber Tiles are vulcanized, meaning they are non-porous, making them very easy to clean. They are very slip resistant and more so when wet and are resistant to mold and mildew growth. The only thing you will notice is that these tiles will fade in direct sunlight over time.
Do I need to glue these down for them not to move if I'm doing a whole room?
Silvia Mantilla Ortiz
You don't have to glue down our Evolution Rubber Tiles. They are an interlocking rubber tile and do not require any glue or tape for installation.
Can you cut them to make around corners for a full room installation?
ethan clark
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles can be cut to fit around corners of a room for a full room installation. To cut our Evolution Rubber Tiles, all you need is a sharp utility knife and a straight edge. Since these tiles are pretty thick, you may have to make a few cuts before cutting through the whole tile.
Can you drive over these tiles? I want to install these in my garage.
Raul
You can drive over our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles. Since these are interlocking rubber tiles, there is potential for them to separate when certain driving moves are made in your garage such as turning the wheel. These tiles are made from rubber, so car oil can over time break down the flooring. To prevent this, we recommend placing one of our Nitro Rolls or and Auto Floor Guard mat in the area where you typically park your car. Our rubber tiles are very easy to clean and maintain and would work perfectly in a multi-use garage.
Do the mats have any smell or fumes? If yes do you recommend washing or letting them "settle" in the garage to minimize any odors?
Tony Uranga
Our Evolution Rubber Tiles do have a rubber smell to them. It is not super strong, but it is there. To help to dissipate this smell, we recommend mopping the floor with a mild soap and water solution. You will want to use a synthetic mop and let the floor air dry. We also suggest providing ample ventilation in the area where the flooring will be installed. You may have to repeat the cleaning process a few times to get the smell totally gone.
If I lay over a large rug or carpet, will it stain?
Tony
Our Evolution Rubber Tiles when placed over most carpets, will not stain them. There is potential over white or very light carpets that our rubber tiles may leave a mark. To help prevent this, we recommend placing a plastic sheet between the carpet and the tiles.
When the tiles are new is there any risk for pregnant mothers to be from fumes?
Mikel
Our Evolution Rubber Tiles are safe for young and old and are tested on a regular basis. So, you would not need to be worried about any fumes that come from the rubber whether you were pregnant or not.
Will this work effectively over Laminate flooring without hurting it?
MG
You install our Evolution Rubber Tiles over laminate without it affecting the laminate. Our Evolution Rubber Tiles are meant to be a floating floor and can be installed over any hard, flat surface.
I am considering the Evolution Tiles in a room with unobstructed western sun and large open windows. How much will the tiles expand in with a temperature range of 40 -90 degrees F? Do they shrink with age? Are they UV stable?
Tracy
We recommend placing a 5/8" expansion joint around our Evolution Rubber Tiles to account for any expansion or contraction that will occur in a room that is not temperature controlled. These tiles do not shrink over time and are not UV stable. In-direct sunlight, these tiles will fade.
Are these toxic? If they are, what do you guys recommend that is non-toxic flooring for a boxing gym?
adrian
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles are not toxic. They do have a smell to them, which is not toxic. If you are sensitive to smells, we would recommend going with our 1/2" Tight-Lock Rubber Tiles or one of our virgin rubber tiles.
Is the 5/8 evolution rubber tiles good for jumping rope? Or is there a better option? Thanks.
Jen
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles are the perfect flooring option for jump roping and any jump training, plyometrics, or other high impact workouts.
How do you keep them clean? I read that dirt gets in the cracks. Do you have a similar product without the groove?
Julia Seaton
The best way to clean our Evolution Rubber Tiles is to sweep any large dirt and debris with a broom. For any stuck-on dirt and grime, we recommend using a mild soap and water solution with a synthetic mophead. You will then let these tiles air dry. We don't have any smooth topped Evolution Rubber Tiles, but we do have a Diamond topped version that doesn't have the smaller grooves.
Where are these made?
Lindsey
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles are constructed with natural rubber. These tiles are a vulcanized tile, meaning they are very durable and non-porous, making them very easy to clean and sanitize.
If installing on top of berber carpet, should I put a plastic sheet or plywood under these tiles?
Cicely
If you have a light carpet, we would recommend placing a plastic sheet under our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles. Since these are black in color, there is potential for them to stain light colored carpet. If you have a dark colored carpet, the staining is not a noticeable. In either case, cleaning a stain if easy. All you would need to do is vacuum any large dirt and debris and carpet shampooo your carpet.
Can computer chairs roll over them?
Michele L Thompson
A computer chair can easily roll over our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles.
Are these tiles rated for exterior use on a roof in a cold weather climate?
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles can be used outdoors on a rooftop in any climate, whether cold or hot. Since these products are made from rubber, they will expand and contract with the outside temperature. We do recommend placing a 5/8" thick expansion gap around the floor. To prevent expansion and contraction from happening, we would recommend gluing the tiles down with a polyurethane adhesive.
Can I install these tiles over a brick to create a flat, stable gym surface? If not, do you have a product that can do that?
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles can be installed over brick. Since bricks can be a little uneven, so if your brick is slightly uneven, we would suggest placing a plywood board over the brick to create a solid flat surface.
Is the rubber on this rough. Would it be painful to do push-ups or other yoga-type movements in it? If so, would there be another product you would recommend?
Noel Scruggs
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles are not rough; the surface is fairly smooth. So doing push-ups and yoga type movements would be rather comfortable on these rubber tiles. Our Evolution Rubber Tiles are one of the best flooring options for floor exercises due to how they are designed. The tiles feature an ergonomic backing that helps to provide optimal shock absorbency.
We are converting one of our studios into a gym. We do not want to damage the ballet floors with weights. Will this help with the impact of free weights dropping?
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles will help to reduce the impact of dropping weights on your studio flooring. These rubber tiles are very shock-absorbing and will help to protect your floor from the dropping of heavy weights.
Would these tiles work well to help cancel noise to the floor below?
Alex
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles will reduce the amount of noise that would transfer to the space below. These tiles feature a backing that creates pockets of air that allow the noise to channel under the tiles before transfering below.
Can you install your rubber flooring over nice hardwood floors without damaging the hardwood floors?
Rex
You can install our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles over hardwood flooring without it damaging the wood. We recommend placing a plastic sheet under the rubber floor tiles if you are concerned that it might. This will ensure your beautiful hardwood flooring is not affected adversely.
Can these rubber tiles be placed on top of luxury vinyl floor planks? I read that rubber stains vinyl.
Perry
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles can be installed over luxury vinyl plank and tile without staining the product. It doesn't stain this type of vinyl due to the wear layer.
I have a cat that likes to dig his claws into anything rubber. Are these rubber tiles durable enough to discourage my cat from trying to scratch or claw into the rubber, thus ruining the appearance? Or will it be prone to claw marks? Thank you in advance.
MC
A cat's claws won't cut through our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles, but they will scratch the surface. You can make it less noticeable by cleaning the tiles regularly.
What do you mean by “natural rubber”? If it’s not virgin rubber, where does it come from? Like, is it from tires, etc.?
Ryan
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles are not virgin but are made with recycled car tires made from natural rubber.
If I plan to do Olympic lifts on this floor like cleans, snatches, etc., that involve dropping weights, will it hold up? How does the warranty work if the floor were to get a hole from dropping a weight?
Hunter
Our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles can be used in gyms where weights will be dropped, and Olympic lifts will be performed. Our warranty is a manufacturer's warranty. It will only cover any manufacturing defects and will not cover damage due to use.
Do the borders come with it or do I have to buy them separately?
Felipe Sampaio
The borders for our 5/8" Evolution Rubber Tiles will need to be purchased separately.
