Is buying the mats online only, or do they sell these specifically in a store? My dad doesn't like online shopping so....If they do sell these specifically where?

Our 4'x8'x2" Folding Mats are sold primarily online. If you live in the Phoenix area or in the Nashville area, you can stop by one of our warehouses and pick up the mat. If that is an option for you, please feel free to contact one our flooring heroes and they can assist you with your purchase.
What is the fall height for these mats? Can they be placed on a concrete patio outside? Would it be ideal for placing under a swing set for protection from falls outside on concrete? Is there a recommendation for a better mat for that application?

For under a swing set, we recommend using our Playground Swing Mats. Our 4' x 8' x 2" folding mats while shock absorbent, are not ideal for use for that type of application.

What is the difference between the 4'x8'x2" Eco Folding Mat and the 4'x8'x2" Folding Mat?

The main difference between our Eco-Folding mats and our standard Folding Mats is the vinyl used. Our Standard folding mats have an 18 oz vinyl while our Eco-Folding Mats feature a 13 oz vinyl. The foam used in both is the same. Since the Eco-Folding mat uses a thinner vinyl, it will not last as long as our standard folding mats.
Is this made with phthalate-free vinyl?

Our 4'x8'x2" Folding Mats do not contain a fire retardant in the foam.
Can you use these mats collectively as the floor itself for a gymnastics room in the attic of a heated barn? They would be placed on top of a plywood subfloor.

You can use our 4'x8'2" Folding Mats as a full gymnastics floor. These mats feature velcro strips on all sides and can be connected to create a full floor.
Do you need to get mat tape for this so it won't slip or is it slip resistant similar to eoc mats?

Our Folding Mats are slip resistant, so no mat tape is needed to keep them in place. If there were some movement for whatever reason, you could always place some double-sided tape under the mat to keep it in place.
Are these soft or hard mats?
Our 4'x8'x2" Folding Mats aren't necessarily hard mats. They are firm giving you optimal shock absorbency. If you are looking for a mat that is not as firm we would recommend using our 4'x8'x2" Eco Folding Mats or our 4'x8'x2" PU Leather Folding Mats.
Do these mats slide over a marley or wood surface? (Use: for acro instruction.)

Our 4'x8'x2" Folding Mats have some grip to them, so with normal use, they typically won't slip. If for some reason they did start to slip when in use, we recommend using some double-sided tape under the mats.
What is the difference between the Eco folding mat and the regular folding mat? I am 66 years old and will use the mat for floor workout and with my TRX. over a painted concrete floor.

The main difference between our Folding Mats and our Eco Folding Mats is the weight of the vinyl that is used. The Eco Folding mats use vinyl with a lower weight than our Standard Folding Mats. This doesn't diminish the durability of the mats, but it can be a benefit if you are looking for something that is a little softer to the touch and little softer to land on. Many of our customers prefer the feel of our Eco Folding Mats due to this fact.
Are individual 2' x 4' sections sold so that we can customize the size?

We do not sell individual 2' x 4' sections of or 4'x8'x2" Folding Mats. We only offer one size.
Can these mats be used outdoors? Can they be hosed off?

You can use our 4'x8'x2" outdoors. These mats are made with a non-porous vinyl casing that is very durable and can be easily cleaned off with a hose.
Do these meet the CPSIA requirements for lead, formaldehyde, and phthalates?

Will these mats soundproof the floors so that the downstairs neighbor won't hear my cats running around?
Our 4'x8'x2" Folding Mats are very thick and will muffle the sound of cats or anyone walking around from the neighbors downstairs.
Are these mats suitable for Aikido training ? I will be using them outdoor on a grass lawn.
Our 4'x8'x2" Folding Mats can be used for Aikido training. These mats are very durable and shock absorbent and are very easy to sanitize. The mats can be used indoors and out and are very portable allowing you to practice anywhere.
Is the beginner mat more firm or squishy? my daughter has started to do more standing backbends and front walkovers and has already mastered cartwheels and rolls. which mat do you recommend?

4'x8'x2" Folding Mats would be great to continue working on backbends and walkovers. The folding mats are somewhat firm so that they can be walked on easily without losing your balance while being soft enough to absorb a fall during practice moves. When she progresses to flips be sure to pick up one of our crash mats to keep her safe when she is working on landings!
I plan on putting this in the garage on the concrete floor where my kids will be climbing a vertical rope above it in case they fall while climbing. Is this the best mat you have for this kind of activity?

Depending on the height that they will be climbing it would be safe to land on. The higher someone climbs the softer you would want the landing to be. You may be interested in one of our crash mats if they might fall in any position other than on their feet.
Will these mats cushion a toddlers fall and prevent any head injuries? I have a child with autism and she is an extreme climber and jumper. Im looking for mats that she can jump down onto without injury

Our Folding Mats are made with a great foam that are great for cushioning falls. The mat can even be folded up and used as a very thick landing pad for kids.
Does your mat contain EVA foam?
Our Folding Mats contain a crosslink polyethylene foam which provides a little more cushion when absorbing impacts than EVA foam does. EVA foam is a great structural support foam for our foam tiles but the crosslink foam provides a softer landing for more athletic impacts.
Are the mats good sound insulators? I need something to reduce noise for our neighbors below, when our 7 year old is practicing martial arts with the weavemaster - kicking and falling, etc.

Our 4'x8'x2" Folding Mats are impact and sound insulating. They will help dampen the amount of impact noise that anyone below would hear. Now, these mats won't eliminate the sound but will dampen the noise while keeping your children safe while at play.
