Customer Questions

Don't see what you're looking for?
Are there corner pieces? Border pieces? If not, how do you order the edge strips?
Russ Durkee
Each Versa-Lock Rubber Tile comes with two removable edge pieces allowing you to turn any tile into a corner, border, or center tile. You don't have to purchase them separately; they come with the tile free of charge.
I am looking to buy your 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles for a home gym. Is the color black solid black, or does it have any specs color in it at all? (I am talking about the black option only, not the gray, red or blue speckle options).
Wilhelmina
Black rubber overall is pretty much black. For 99.9% of all black colored tiles orders, the color is jet black. There is a very small chance that some contaminant could show up, but that is very rare. So with our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles, the black color will be pretty much jet black.
Do you need to glue it down?
Gordon
Our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles are interlocking tiles designed to be installed as a floating floor. We do not recommend using glue on these rubber tiles as it can impede the tiles from interlocking properly.
Are the edge strips seamless once installed, and does it lock-in as secured?
Vi
The removable borders on our Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles will interlock virtually seamlessly with the tiles. These borders use the same interlock as the tiles themselves and will interlock very tightly. You won't have any issues with them coming apart while the floor is in use.
I originally purchased the 3/8" SureFit Rubber Tiles and wanted to add more to my garage gym. Would these tiles interlock with your 3/8" SureFit Rubber Tiles?
Dot
Our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles will not interlock with our 3/8" SureFit Rubber Tiles.
I'm trying to cover 8' x 6'. Does the two size tiles lock together? So I can get 2 of 4'x4' and 4 of 2'x2'?
Albert
Yes, the beauty of our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles is that you can interlock all sizes of the tiles together to create any size floor desired. This is why our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles are our most flexible and versatile rubber tile we offer.
I am looking to use these in the basement for my 2 dogs' play area since they need the room and wonder how they hold up to claws. Just looking to see if they hold up well to claws? Thank you.
Jason
There is potential for pet claws to scratch the surface of our 3/8" Versa-lock Rubber Tiles or any of our rubber flooring. This will not destroy the integrity of the flooring but will just cause some unsightly scratch marks overtime. You will typically only see scratch marks from pets when they are clawing at the flooring, not when they are walking or running across the floor.
When these are interlocked, can any fluid leak through, or will it stay on top of the interlocked section?
Jason
The interlock for our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles is one of the tightest we offer. If interlocked properly and tightly, water and other liquids will not pass through the interlock to the subfloor below. To truly make these tiles water-tight, we recommend using our seam sealer glue and our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer on the floor. This will ensure that your floor will be water-tight.
Is there a beveled edge available for this product? The manufacturer indicated it was, but I don't see it on your website.
Susan
You can get a beveled edge for our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles by purchasing our Rubber Floor Ramps in the 7-9mm thickness.
I need to put these on top of an engineered hardwood floor installed on top of a concrete slab. It needs to protect the floor from occasional weight drops (say, 45lb dumbbells) from about 2'-3'. Is the 3/8" strong enough for that, or do I need to go bigger? I like the Versa-Lock but need to protect the floor.
Glenn Miller
Our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles can be installed over an engineered hardwood floor without damaging the floor. 3/8" is the standard in commercial gyms, and depending on the amount of weight being dropped, our 3/8" thick rubber is sufficient to protect your subfloor. We recommend if dropping dumbbells, that our 3/8" thickness is good enough for dumbbells from 100 pounds or less.
Can the Versa-Lock Rubber tiles be used in a garage?
We don't recommend driving a car over our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles. The reason we don't recommend driving over most of our rubber tiles is that there could be separation of the tiles when turning your car's wheel. Our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles can be installed in a garage with no issues other than that issue. These tiles are great as garage gym flooring and are very easy to install and maintain. Shock absorbent and slip-resistant, these interlocking rubber tiles are great for performing all types of exercises. If you aren't turning the wheel of your car going in and out of your garage, you could also drive or park a car over the tiles. The only issue that could arise is if your car leaks oil. The oil from the car, over time, can cause the tiles to break down. If your car does leak oil, you can add one of our Nitro Rolls in black or an Oil Spill Mat.
I am interested in the 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles. What are the exact dimensions of the 2' x 2' tiles so I can order the exact amount I need since it shows 1 tile = 3.56 sq ft. Your estimator shows way more than I need. Also would like to know if these tiles have an odor as my wife has a very sensitive nose.
Joe
The exact sizes (interlocked sizes) of the different sized 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles is as follows: 2' x 2', exact size (interlocked size) 22.5" x 22.5", 4' x 4', exact size (interlocked size) 46.71" x 46.71", 4' x 6', exact size (interlocked size) 45" x 67.5". Our rubber tiles do have a slight rubber smell when you initially get the flooring. If you are sensitive, we recommend mopping the floor with a mild soap and water solution with a mop that has a synthetic mophead. You will then want to let the flooring air dry. Make sure that where you have the flooring has ample ventilation so that the flooring can properly vent. You may have to do this process a few times to get the smell to dissipate truly.
I see each of your 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles come with 2 edge strips. Which edge strips are they, Universal, Beveled Corner, or Beveled Edge? Also, what is the difference between the Universal Edge and Beveled Edge? Your website photos look like they have the same bevel angle, but the Universal has a triangle on each end that can work for corners. If that corner is cut off, is it then the same as the Beveled Edge? Thank you.
Scott Davison
The edges that come with the 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles are not beveled. The beveled edging options that we offer come in a few versions. The Beveled Edge is meant to bevel one side of your space. This is typically used in doorways or entry points to the floor. The Beveled Corners connect with the Beveled Edges to create a beveled edge for multiple sides. If there are multiple entry points, this is typically used so you can create a finished look to your floor. The Universal Edges are unique as they allow you to create both beveled corners and edges with one piece. These are great for spaces that are not just square. You can create inside and outside corners and beveled edges all with one piece.
Can these be used outdoors?
Omar
Our 3/8" Versa-Lock Rubber Tiles can be installed outdoors. Rubber is very weather resistant. These interlocking rubber tiles are mold and mildew resistant and very slip-resistant, especially when wet. These rubber floor tiles are very easy to install and clean and can be replaced easily if damaged. The only thing you will notice is that the tiles will fade a bit in direct sunlight.
