Do these seconds have variation in color between the boxes? I am concerned about that or is the variation just to the sample and online pictures. I am looking to order 12 boxes thank you.

This is a seconds quality product. Quality and color variation are to be expected
What type of backing is on this carpet? Is it a rubber backing

These tiles do not have rubber backing. The backing is a layer of adhesive.
