Helios interlocking deck tiles are easy to maintain. Cleaning of these multiuse tiles typically includes:
  • Vacuuming or sweeping any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the tiles when necessary.
  • Hose off or damp mop the floor tiles with a mild soap and water mixture for tough or caked-on dirt and/or stains.
Note: Hard water may cause some staining on our deck tiles. To help mitigate this, we recommend cleaning our composite deck tiles with a vinegar/distilled water solution. Since distilled water doesn’t have any minerals in it, it will not stain your decking tiles. You will want to fill a bucket with 2 parts vinegar to a gallon of water used. You will then pour this mixture on your deck tiles and scrub them with a soft-bristled brush or broom. Once you have completed brushing your tiles, you will want to flush your tiles with more distilled water. Let your decking air dry, and voilá, your floor will look like the first day you bought it.
Helios Board Tiles are easy to install. Installation of these floor tiles typically includes:
  • Clean your subfloor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, grease, or other foreign material.
  • When installing the deck tiles, we recommend starting in the front left corner of the space and working your way out from there.
  • Make sure the female side (loops) of the tile is facing away from the edge.
  • After filling the left edge with tiles and the adjacent edge, proceed to fill the rest of the space with whole tiles.
  • When you come up to a wall or object, don’t worry. Just measure the area and cut the tiles with a sharp utility knife and put the trimmed tiles into place.
  • When trimming the tiles into place, make sure you leave about a 3/4” space between the tiles and the edge or obstruction.

Hi, can this product be placed right on top of leveled dirt or rocks?
Xavier
For best results, we recommend installing the tiles over concrete to ensure they stay interlocked and do not sink into any softer subfloor surface such as dirt.
How much weight does Helios tile support
The maximum breaking point of these tiles is 7.22 kilonewton per sq ft (1,623.12 Lbs. per sqft).
How do you handle dirt, leaves, debris , etc. from getting into all the spaces, building up and eventually growing things in the spaces?
Sweeping the tiles regularly should help prevent debris build-up. You can also use an underlayment such as landscape fabric under the tiles to prevent growth.
How well do these work on uneven surfaces?
Margo
The subfloor surface needs to be clean, level and free of imperfections prior to installation. The tiles cannot be installed on uneven surfaces.
I am replacing a rubber roof on my family room addition removing existing wood decking replacing rubber room and would like to use these tiles as flooring. Can these tiles be used? They wont damage roofing ?
Cheryl
The underside of the tiles are pointy plastic and would not be recommended to install directly overtop of roofing underlayment. You could put one of our additional rubber underlayment options (thicker) between the roof membrane and the tiles so that they wouldn't directly touch the roof membrane.

I previously had acacia patio tiles in this riverside patio that I created. They lasted one season. I found your composite tiles and they not only look amazing, but are sturdy and withstand the weather. I wish I would have found these when I first made the space.

  Very Happy
Self-installed in Deck

We refreshed this deck in a day. Two 60 something year old women! The major square section only took 3 hours to put down over the 25 year old deck. Cutting all the angles we saved for last. It was slower but doable. The main structure of the deck was solid but the stain on the pressure treated wood as well as the wood itself was in poor condition. I was either going to replace all the wood or cover it. I love the new composite deck tiles and how it looks now. It was a great alternative and I saved lots of money by doing it myself. I am very very happy with the results!
