Engineered vinyl tiles and planks are easy to keep clean and maintain. Maintenance of the floor typically includes:
  • Daily or weekly vacuuming or dropping of dirt, grit, dust etc.
  • Use felt pads under chair and furniture legs to prevent scratching of the flooring surface.
  • Place door mats at all entrances to prevent tracked in dirt, rocks, moisture, and other debris.
  • Avoid using rubber backed mats as they can stain the flooring surface over time.
  • When mopping, use a damp and never a wet mop.
  • Clean up spills immediately to prevent damage to the floor.

Installation is simple, and is commonly done by our customers. Installation of planks and tiles is as follows:
  • Complete any necessary floor prep.
  • Start with the tongue side facing the wall.
  • After the initial starter board, press the end seam of the second plank into the end seam of the first plank, and then lock them together by laying the plank down. Continue working left to right.
  • Install the first plank in the second row by inserting the tongue into the groove of the plank in the first row. This is best done with a low angle of the plank.
  • Insert the long side seam at a slight angle first. As the top surfaces meet, rotate the plank down into the locked position. Engage the end seam, using a rubber mallet if necessary.
  • Planks may be cut with a utility knife using the “score and snap” technique, or with the use of a crosscut power saw.
  • Continue installing planks removing any gaps using a tapping block and a scrap of flooring to cover the tapping block. Be careful not to damage In*Step tongue and groove.
  • Protect all exposed edges by installing wall moulding and/or transition strips. Make sure that no plank will be secured in any way to the subfloor.

    Q:

do I have to put a vapor barrier or pad under the cortec

    A:

While Bliss COREtec is waterproof, it’s not a moisture barrier. A moisture barrier is always a good idea to prevent mold and mildew growth under the floor. Bliss COREtec One planks do not come with included padding, so if you would like added sound control and warmth, you may install an underlayment prior to installing the planks.

    Q:

    Q:

I'm remodeling a 1964 Airstream travel trailer and looking for a good flooring option. I'd like to put this flooring down prior to placing the cabinets. Is this a good product for this application?

    A:

Groovy! Bliss COREtec One Vinyl Planks are definitely a durable and quality flooring option. The interlocking design makes them perfect for any DIYer or Weekend Warrior, so you can be back on the road in no time.

    Q:

We will be having Cortec one installed in our double wide trailer. We close the house for the winter draining the water and turning off the heat. Any advice?

    A:

Please review the detailed installation instructions PDF that is available above in our Installation Info tab. Be sure to account for ¼” expansion gap during installation.

    Q:

This says it does no expand or contract. If this is the case, does it require the 1/4 spacing around the edges?

    A:

Because houses and buildings, as well as adjacent hardwood or laminate floors, expand and contract, Bliss recommends leaving a ¼” expansion gap between the perimeter walls and any adjacent flooring.

    Q:

Is the vinyl coretec planks slippery to walk on? Is it safe for an old person with a walker?

    A:

The flooring would be fine for a person with a walker.

    Q:

I plan to install Bliss COREtec One planks (Hatteras) on concrete subfloor and will require an end cap at the door. Is there a cap available in the color range? How do I install the end cap to the floating floor? Lastly, is a rubber floor ramp a viable option? Thank you.

    A:

A reducer or end cap would be recommended for this space. Coordinating end caps in this series are not currently available. The transition piece typically installs directly into a track and onto your subfloor. Rubber flooring ramps are a suitable solution as well. Be sure to follow manufacturer's installation instructions for any trim molding.

Basement flooded and we had to rip up the old carpet that has been down there for God knows how long. Replaced it with the wood floors and it not only looks great but is easy to clean.
