Accessories for AcoustiCORK R60 Underlayment

Description - AcoustiCORK R60 6mm cork underlayment can be used under all flooring types, but has been specifically designed to be used under ceramic tiles and hardwood. This flooring underlayment gives the same sound proofing level as 2mm thick rubber or 12mm thick foam. Just like all cork underlayments, this underlayment is mold and mildew resistant and also has the ability to expand and contract with your flooring. Also like most cork underlayments, this will also need to be adhered with a polyurethane adhesive and be installed with a vapor barrier to protect your flooring surface. This underlayment is also designed to meet building codes and condominium association requirements when the floor and ceiling assembly system is a ceramic, natural wood or stone with a suspended ceiling.
Material - AcoustiCORK R60 underlayment is made from cork, which is harvested bark off of the cork tree. The bark of the tree grows back for over 200 years and can be stripped every 9 years, making this product truly eco-friendly.
Width - 48” wide rolls.
Length - Available in 50’ and 100’ lengths.
Thickness - 6mm (~1/4”).
Weight - 54 Lbs. per roll.

    Q:

We have a condo with concrete floors between the units and we keep our condo rather cold (68 degrees) and the lady below keeps hers rather warm causing her ceiling to get soggy and her paint bubbles. can this product help? can we put 2-3 layers down?

    A:

Underlayment can help with some heat transmission, however, this sounds like there may be other underlying issues happening. We recommend contacting your condo association to discuss this issue.
